Please do not buy this game. The publisher muscled its development away from another smaller development team only to shudder the new development team mid early access development. There are many more details to this, so please take a look into it if you are curious.

As for my experience with the game, I played very little as it did not perform very well. I got the game in early access as i wanted to check in as it was further developed. That is now highly unlikely. This makes me deeply sad.

This game has come a really long way over the years, and is still getting regular updates. The player's interactions with the world are really fluid and everything makes sense. I don't love the micro transactions but It doesn't seem to spread beyond cosmetics, so I guess its not too bad. I really enjoy how they implemented missions, and overall I really recommend the game, especially if you have friends to play with.

This game is really cool and pretty innovative! It lost me a little bit at the beginning of the second act of the game, but soon had me glued to the screen until the end. If you are interested in what you see at all i recommend you get it!

Also, it doesn't get very scary if that's important to you.

I really love settlement building (especially with mods) so I find the gameplay loop of exploring/questing, looting/scrapping, and building/managing settlements to be really compelling. If the settlement building isn't for you then it takes out a big chunk of that cycle, and I could see the game getting old fast. For me I've had a lot of fun. There are some pretty bad bugs around, and I'd recommend getting some of the bigger patch and optimization mods at least even if you aren't interested in any new content.

This game is a lot of fun, but suffers a bit from glitches and other issues. For me these were easy to get around, and left a fantastic experience that I'm still enjoying after a few hundred hours.
