I've been a big fan since Freedom Unite on the PSP, but as much as I love the series and this game, I can't ignore the poor optimization, the sometimes slow-loading textures, and the FPS drops in the cities, and Capcom should be held accountable for it.

On the other hand, the gameplay is absolutely awesome. The weapons feel really powerful, and every hit feels strong. The new moves for each weapon are fantastic and make every fight feel incredibly smooth. The variety of monsters is great, and fans of the series will enjoy seeing old monsters back in action with cool new moves.

In the end, I can say that the game itself is just awesome. If you have a somewhat up-to-date PC, it will run relatively smoothly most of the time. But if any component is a bit older, you may run into problems that shouldn't exist in a well-optimized game.

Sadly, I think the engine Capcom chose is the biggest part of the problem. In Dragon's Dogma 2, which uses the same engine, very similar problems occur. So, no one knows if any performance fixes will be released, but as it stands, I enjoyed the game a lot and will continue to do so for many hours to come.
