This game could have been so cool

I'm a long time fan of the borderlands franchise and I've sunk dozens of hours into the other games, but this one just takes the life out of me.

-The good-
-spells are pretty fun and diverse
-you can combine two classes for some neat character customization
-fantasy themed guns are kinda novel for the first hour
-rips the good gameplay and qol straight from bo3
-new enemy types are novel as well. It's kinda funny when the skeleton enemies say, "AAAHHH IM DYING, AGAIN!!!"
-The gameplay is still dynamic enough to not be stagnant most of the time
-Very few notable bugs at all. Sometimes the vending machines don't make a sound when you buy an item. That's about it.

-The Bad-
-First off, this game is short. Like, ~10 hours short, If you're really trying to pad for time like I was, and you get all the shrines and do a bunch of side missions, maybe ~15 + or - 5 for the chaos vaults replacing all "endgame content" definitely NOT worth AAA price from the start.
-The writing is pretty substandard for borderlands. Its like someone turned on super SFW mode with every line they speak. Even torgue censors himself. It has its moments where it might be able to squeak out a brief chuckle, but they are few and far between.
-This game is EASY. I played through the entire story in 4 sittings and died a total of 6 times. Even the post story content had me yawning. Keep in mind, I'm not a high tier expert 5 star gamer, I play games casually, and this was a snoozefest. If that's your cup of tea, then ignore this part.
-There is very little variety in the things you do in this game. Not really something new for the BO franchise, but this one is a new level of laziness. Every single mission is either walk to a place, shoot a guy with extra health, or stand in a circle all while shooting other, lesser enemies. This might not have been such a big issue for me if it wasn't for the...
-Random encounters (+dungeons) 80% of this game is one of these two things. There are around 10 little arenas that are used REPEATEDLY throughout the entire game where you kill 20 guys and them jump through a portal and do it again until the quest item shows up. I ♥♥♥♥ you not this is every single side quest.
-The story is... really really bad. Like halo infinite bad. Without getting into spoilers, everything just happens because tina says so while the other two "player" characters make unfunny remarks until the game is over while you just kinda watch. The entire game is spent building to a threat that never appears. There are no arcs, nobody learns anything or changes at all, it is very unfulfilling.
-No Catch a Ride (imagine if you could have had a dragon)

I really really wanted to like this game; and to be fair, I kinda did. If it's 50% off or more, I'd say its worth it.
