PREFACE: My initial opinions only. I will update this as I play further through the game!

Let me start this off by saying Age of Empires is one of my all time favourite series and one that I have played near to death. I still have and play on the original disc versions and have bought on Steam as well. When I heard they were making a fourth version of this game after so long, I was so keen to see what they could come up with.

I pre-ordered the game the moment it was available and waiting patiently for the launch.

I have now played a few games, skirmishes and the campaign and can honestly say that I do not prefer this to AOE2.

The main problems that I have with the game and I know this will likely change is that the game feels very limited in what you can do. The population cap is low, the map feels small and the game mode options are near enough non-existent.

in AOE2 my favourite modes were deathmatch and regicide, neither of which are available in this game currently. The unique buildings are a horrible addition being imported across from AOE3 like the heroes in that. An enemy player cannot be eliminated until all their unique buildings are gone and stay gone because repairing them keeps them in the game. Spacing out these unique buildings and moving your army between them to continually destroy them at corners of the map is an endless game of duck-duck-goose that makes the game feel repetitive and frankly boring.

Castles no longer have the same effectiveness either being less of a attack building and more of a unique barracks to mass train troops. They to me anyway have lost half the reason you would wish to build them in the first place as they were a major fortification but they are now ridiculously easy to destroy with infantry and siege machines.

I do like some of the new mechanics that have been added into the game and some of the resource gathering seems nicer and more fluid. I love the new method of collecting sheep and I like the new economic boosts different buildings can provide. Mills providing boosts to farms is another nice addition and I like not having to re-farm or re-seed the farms every time they reach exhaustion too.

As of right now, I don't really know what to think as I am no where near as happy playing the game as I was watching demos and trailers. I know there will be updates and I know that workshop support will make the game much more playable but all in all, right now, I would still rather play AOE2 for my preferred RTS game.

I look forward to seeing updates and changes being made, ideally starting with further game modes to limit the repetitiveness of it all. I hate the unique buildings but will see how much further it plays out.

BTD6 is a really fun game to play with friends and by yourself. Really makes you think and try to work out what to do better. Sometimes you will swear at your stupid friends named Horea for not sharing money in CO-OP and all around being a bad team mate. Love the game. Bought it twice on mobile and PC. Can sync game between the two so you can play on the go and back on the PC. Definitely worth the investment.

Half dead 2 is a fairly decent game. It's a fun refresh of the original with a few new additions. Worth it when on sale and with friends

For the most part this game is pretty fun. When you finally get into a session, because that will take a while, you are greeted with a beautiful open world in which you can pillage, murder and mutilate (In that order). While the game itself is fun, it is also a ridiculous grind in order to get things. Most players end up modding or hacking it seems in order to get in game weapons, businesses and vehicles. Can I blame them? No. Am I one of them? I don't know if I should say. R* bans any and all players who are associated with hacking or hackers so its not really a great system and makes it hard to continue enjoying the game. Overall I would recommend this game, however don't get too invested or into the grind as you will never come out of it. You could likely never earn enough money to buy everything legitimately.

After spending a lot more time on this game playing both the generic and custom workshop maps as well as attempting to create my own I have started to see a lot more value in this game. Playing with friends can be an absolute blast although if you are like me and have anger issues then it can get very infuriating very quickly. Take caution. I have had to replace 3 mice, 2 headsets and 5 monitors from golf fueled rage. If none of that bothers you though then go and enjoy some golf..

TLDR: Good Graphics but worse version of Battlefield 1...

For me personally, I had high hopes for this game...

It however did not deliver to my satisfaction a game worth playing...

The graphics looked good but the game itself feels like its trying to copy Battlefield 1...

Not recommended.

Watch_Dogs 2. I was very excited to obtain a copy of this game but it unfortunately did not deliver to my expectations. From the gameplay I had seen of this game I was expecting more. The game just, well somethings missing and I don't know what it is. The game has good graphics and some ok moments but at the moment I can't say I can recommend it. (I know it says I only have a few hours but the count reset, I was 39 hours into the game).

PROS:
  • Some fun moments
  • Ok graphics

CONS:
  • Horrible driving mechanics
  • Hacking controls for PC are fiddly and horrible
  • Multiplayer aspects are terrible, (Most partners don't do anything)
  • Storyline doesn't go anywhere or make sense
  • Diologue is long and pointless and can't be followed without concentration
  • No real point to any of the missions
  • Fighting is horrible
  • The stun gun is the best weapon
  • Dogs die in explosions
  • Enemies can see you even when you are behind cover
  • Enemies have much more health
  • Enemies hate drones and RC units (shoot yours even when they haven't been detected somehow)
  • Gameplay is unrealistic
  • No planes or helicopters accessible to the player!
  • Not a good variety of cars or vehicles to use

I am quite sorry to have to admit all this but I really expected more from a game that was this hyped up. My advice to those of you who want to buy afun, open world game with all the features is to get GTA V. It has all the things that are missing and are wrong with this game. Sorry Ubisoft I just can't recommend.
