It's just the gem that everyone knew it would be. What an awesome successor to the first iteration, and a passionate team of devs behind it that allowed a proper release of an amazing game. Worth every $ and more

It's exactly what you would expect from a free to play mmorpg. The game is centered around whoever will pay the most to race their way to top gear score. Then those players will get into the same guilds, forming an alliance and denying the rest of the server the chance to gear up too. It's how the game is. Bad RNG doesn't help either. All in all, if you are able to spend 10h a day on the game you'll do just fine - if you have a job or like to go outside. you probably want to give this a pass unless you're willing to throw money at them for compensating the lack of playtime. allowing players to switch servers so easily defeats the purpose of doing servers in the first place. Merges are cool when servers die - but outside of that players should start over if they want to go to a new server. Did I mention RNG?

Objectively, you would only buy this if you wanted to support the game. The value you get in game is almost zero for the price you paid (then again, it's the same thing in every Free to Play game)

Had to buy it to cover a skin that was going to disappear from the in game store but looking back I wouldn't have spent my money on it

Great so far. Don't trust the bad graphics reviews - they're likely playing on low end PC/headset, the graphics are looking as good as VR allows.

The atmosphere is pretty tense which is amazing to live in VR rather than flat screen. Definitely get it if you've enjoyed the metro series, it's a no brainer.

Post game completion edit - the game took just about 10 hours to complete for me. I have to say it is one of my most enjoyed VR games. Everything was smooth from movement to combat to story. It was amazing to get back into the metro universe, in VR, and live the action. Being surrounded by hounds, spiders, being able to manipulate your guns, being able to interact with your surroundings beyond a flat screen... I am really glad I ignored the early reviews and went for it. Thank you Vertigo Games for this release, and I for one am indeed looking forward to your next VR contribution.

Fallout in space with better graphics and refreshed mechanics. I don't have a potato PC so I don't suffer from loading screens like these reviews make it out to be. Been enjoying it so far and hope to enjoy it for a number of hours after this review.

Basically a free copy of outriders/warframe focusing on women models rather than proper gameplay. Brings nothing new, combats are boring, game is filled with microtransactions (granted it's skins only so could have been worse)

All in all, exactly what you'd expect of an eastern styled game, all the budget went into the b00bies and butts at the expense of an enjoyable, interesting gameplay

I wasn't impacted personally but just giving the thumbs up for the devs fighting to remove the psn account requirement from the game.

It's essentially a combination of every game of the genre, but drastically improved. The building system is really smooth, the skill tree is a nice addition and allows you to specialise into one type of gameplay (heal, dps, tank etc)
Combat is enjoyable, you can dig through mountains to create a base or build a whole castle at the top of a mountain if you will. Really enjoying it

Ghosts of Tabor is no easy game. It puts you in a situation where you more than often go head to head with fully geared, experienced players while wearing your casual shoes. I have played about 30 hours by now, and while I've improved in some areas, I still have a whole lot to learn.
But boy, is it fun and enjoyable! As soon as you accept that going in will more often than not result in your death and losing all your stuff, you can enjoy the game a lot more! Do naked runs, or save your gear and use it once you feel confident - many different ways to play.
The guns feel fairly realistic and the graphics are ok-ish although could be much better. Some issues with sound and hand action detection (i.e. grabbing an item inside a box when you're trying to open the box, resulting in your hand being stuck and a lot of time wasted). Progress needs to be made on gunstock compatibility and, some very much needed QoL adjustments later, that game will be a masterpiece. Would also be great putting in different measures for anticheat than banning QoL softwares, so that we don't have to stop using them (god knows how many times I've needed to reset the play area floor height because for X reason steam VR decided my floor was 1 feet higher this time around)

All in all I can only recommend this great game!
