As someone who purchased this game on sale during Black Friday, I must say that while I can understand why negative reviews have been placed here, my experience with the game has been predominantly positive. The gun play is fun and unique, and I have warmed up to the specialist system. My first observation was that compared to Battlefield 4, the time to kill is much, much longer. This consequently provides a unique gameplay experience, which I tend to like. Some maps tend to have too much of a reliance on vehicles which can be frustrating at times, but I am yet to try all the specialists (hence the 9 hours of playtime).

To summarise, if you enjoy the Battlefield experience for its large battles and intense engagements, then I believe there is enjoyment to be had in 2042. Don't be quick to dislike the specialists, I believe they aren't as bad as they seem, and honestly I enjoy taking on a specific role where I feel like I can be useful to my team in a unique way to help my team win.

Also I run a AMD Ryzen 5 3600 and a GTX 1660 Ti and I can comfortably pull over 60 frames (normally closer to 80 or 90) whereby I actually experience CPU bottleneck most of the time rather than GPU bottleneck.

Just a few notes:
- Ensure you download this game onto an SSD, otherwise the game will bring back haunted memory of PUBG potato buildings (iykyk). But just in general, not loading this game onto an SSD will produce mammoth loading times. It'll be playable but not ideal.
- If you get stuck in a loading screen when opening up the game, just restart the game and save yourself waiting for literally hours just for nothing to happen!
- Finally, don't be an ♥♥♥♥♥, please PTFO :)

Great game, I wish I had friends to play with but honestly it's not necessary as this game offers a great solo sandbox experience for anyone who wants to unleash their inner explorer, builder, discoverer, trader or even fighter. :)

Now after seeing how this game has turned out, I would refund it (got it as a birthday gift via a steam gift card, hence receiving the game for free) if I was still able to. I guess these really grindy games that require heaps of time and a steep learning curve just aren't my thing.

I hopped back onto the game after a few weeks of not playing it since launch, and the server was dead. I think its cos i am only level 20 and most people are max level by now (level 60) and so i was kinda left in the dust.

Only get this game if you do your research on what others with much more experience on it think, and if you are prepared to commit a large chunk of time into this game. I do not fulfil the latter, but was not properly informed of this when I wanted to get the game. Oh well, I can't force you to not get this game. Just don't make an uninformed decision on a game which costs this much.

Super fun if you have friends to play with. not so great on ur own unless ur good (not me).

Oh muma this game is good.

I love the gameplay and the strategy required to win. Though I wouldn't recommend this game to people who won't be able to put alot of time into it because it has and EXTREME learning curve that takes 100's of hours to learn. I believe it is almost impossible to master this game because of it's complexity.

Overall, I rate this game 8.7 / 10.
