I feel like this game is recording the actions I force my cultists to do and sending them to my local government

It's the perfect sequel

The original formula of the game expanded in such a way that it appeals to patrons of the original while receiving a glow up and a small personality change that appeals to everyone. The new atmosphere and tonnes of new secrets is what drove me to 100% this game.

If there is ever any DLC for this game I will return, hungry for more

The core gameplay is extremely fun and well crafted, with most (massive emphasis on most) enemies and bosses being intuitive to fight, it's obvious a lot of time went into making the game fun and balanced to play through. HOWEVER, the game is currently plagued with quite a few bugs and is lacking core features (settings menu, run saving function) due to Edmund being affected by a blackout that caused him to lose a lot of progress. The game also feels a little bare-bones content wise in some ways due to a rough development cycle due to them trying to make a balanced, streamlined puzzle experience, resulting in a lot of cut features, like angel/devil deals and room exploration.

These missing features will be implemented over time, Edmund and James have been working hard on rectifying them with daily patches, and when they fully are I'd highly recommend this game! Until then, unless you're a die hard puzzle game player, wait a month until you purchase this game.

My expectations have honestly been blown out of the park.

Timespinner is such a refreshing entry in the metroidvania genre. The mechanics and movement are extremelly well polished and fluent, has little to no grinding within it's leveling and side quest system, tells it's story in an interactive mix of relatively easy to find (opinionated) secrets and short cutscenes and having a very 'human' plot with relatable characters within the game's universe.

The game is really accessible to all demographics of gamers due to the way the skill floor and skill ceiling is constructed, which is reflected in how it isn't time consuming at all to 100% the game.

This game is definitely in my top 5 games of 2018.
