borderlands 3 story is actually a self-insert fanfic that gearbox picked from a community-made contest and called it a day because randy pitchford wants to save as much money as possible so that he could snag it all up for his own benefit.

or at least it looks like it. i mean c'mon, this has to be true.

jokes aside, it's really a shame that the gameplay is actually really solid, being bogged down by the horrendous writing of the story.

the gunplay and movement are solid, the different variety of weapons from each gun manufacturers lets you find your own favorite weapon to fit your playstyle (tediore let's go), i have a lil issue with how legendary world drops are way too frequent (easy legendary drops tip: loot tinks, they're basically everywhere and guarantee legendary drops if you could kill them fast) compare to other games, making legendaries really not that special anymore, at least in my opinion. enemies are not that bullet spongy anymore, at least to a certain degree and they actually react to your gunfire especially shotguns, making it look like your gun actually has power. although the new cryo elemental damage is really good and can somehow be cheesy, the radiation elemental is questionable to say the least, but that's just me.

the maps are more or less the same as in previous titles, but in all honesty they could've just shoved everything into pandora and not having multiple planets, potentially making it less of a hassle to fast travel than usual. boss fights are sometimes annoying because you have to wait for their immunity to finish after you've dealt a certain amount of damage and it feels like almost as if the bosses are immune every 15% of their health depletes. but it's pretty satisfying for how it actually plays out.

the pc port is uhh, not that optimized but fortunately enough for me, i could run it pretty okayish on my system (im sporting i5 4670 with gtx 750 ti and 8gb rams). the framerate and the gameplay could be sluggish at times but im not really nitpicking that much since it's mostly pve and not pvp so it's actually pretty fine for me.

i don't wanna get into the story. it's just basically "mary sues: the video game". the more you get into the story, the more realized you are that it's actually a self-insert fanfic. im not even joking.

play for the gameplay, not for the story.
