As a longtime fan of The Elder Scrolls series, Oblivion left me disappointed. Instead of building on what made the series great, it followed a generic RPG formula. Bethesda promised a vast world, but the game felt shallow with a bland main quest and recycled content. Side quests quickly became repetitive, lacking depth.

The Radiant AI and dynamic world were gimmicks with little impact on gameplay. The leveling system forced players into constrained builds, limiting creativity. The Oblivion Gates became tiresome, highlighting stretched content.

The game tried to appeal to a modern audience, but it alienated fans by dumbing down mechanics and lore. The visuals and sound were impressive, but couldn't replace the loss of the series' magic. Combat felt clunky and outdated.

The first paid DLC for horse skins felt like a cash grab, undermining the idea of a rich world. Ultimately, Oblivion missed the mark, trying to appeal to everyone while losing its soul. The paid DLCs only reinforced the feeling of a game more focused on monetization than quality.
