Dying Light is a fantastic and tense open-world zombie survival game that blends parkour mechanics with intense combat. The games is set in the post-apocalyptic city of Harran with the residents turned into flesh eating monsters. The genius addition of a the day-night cycle adds a real sense of tension and urgency to the mission. Stronger and more deadly "Volatiles" emerge from their nests and you'll panic as you run for the nearest safe zone. The parkour system is smooth and intuitive, allowing players to fluidly navigate rooftops and escape from hordes of zombies, while the combat is brutal and satisfying, with a variety of weapons to craft and upgrade along the way. Though the story is somewhat predictable, but the detailed world and combat more than make up for it.

For fans of zombie horror like me, Dying Light delivers an exceptional experience that taps into the thrill and terror of surviving in a world overrun by the hungry undead. At least it is how I would imagine it to be. The game captures the intensity of facing off against relentless zombies, particularly during the terrifying night sequences. The gritty atmosphere, amazing zombie designs, and constant sense of danger will keep you on edge. It's a must play for anyone who loves the zombie genre.

Dead Island: Definitive Edition is a remastered version of the original 2011 zombie survival game, delivering enhanced graphics and smoother performance. I have the PS3 version and I loved the tropical setting of Banoi and played it a lot when I was younger. This edition is a step up from the original game with improved textures and lighting everywhere especially when it is compared to the PS3 version.

The core gameplay remains largely unchanged, combining first-person melee combat, weapon crafting, and co-op multiplayer, but it still suffers from some repetitive missions. The best part of course is hacking and slashing the undead. The combat is visceral, gory and fun. Weapons have a statisfying weight that enhances the brutal, close-quarters fights against the hordes of hungry zombies. Weapons degrade with use and you'll need to repair them and upgrade them as you progress.

While not groundbreaking, it’s a solid revisit for fans (like me) of the original, offering a more polished experience with all previously released DLCs included. Perfect for those who enjoy mutilating zombies.
