I got sims 3 to track time by opening the game and hitting play then when im done the launcher that appears when you hit play goes to the hidden icons section on the task bar next to your wifi / date and time and you gotta manually right click or click on it and hit quit and it'll be like "are you sure you wanna quit" and something about saving but it just gets stuck so you can hit quit
