For game from sales costs 7,49€ is it definittly worth!

This game was fun until the recent update Dec.5th 2019. They added horses and the ability to level up your thralls, awesome addition and was a big request, Thanx for that. Now for the total crap shoot, I have no idea what complete idiot decided to totally nerf the movement and dodging mechanics. They should be fired...then blackballed from having anymore ideas in life...seriously whoever had this idea and pushed it through needs to be locked in a room and ignored forever! DO NOT BUY THIS GAME AS OF NOW!!!!! first, your character now moves as if it is permanently moving through thick waist high invisible mud. Gotta run somewhere? give your character a couple seconds to think about the input you just entered. Gotta walk instead? still give your character a couple seconds to react to what you want...cause yeah everyone wants a game to simulate extremely high latency. It's not even close to a humans reaction in real life...unless someone just smashed you in the face with a brick and told you to run 5 feet before they set you on fire then yeah conan got it right. Now for the dodging, they took it out. You used to dodge now it's gone, no more dodging. Now it's an emote lol. The game is completely unplayable as of now...Do not buy it

Update: To those defending the update and those questioning their point of view

It's amazing to watch people defend this update. They all do it so specifically. So I guess I'll Slam them with some specifics lol. This game is based on survival in PvP, PvE and PvPvE (PvE-C). It has many weapons, armors, building sets, thralls, pets and religions. All of these things are intended to provide you with the tools you need to play the game how YOU want to play, for YOUR gamestyle. So when the game developers decide to dictate to you long after you bought the game and solve a supposed problem for an audience you did not belong to, then yes there is a problem. The dodging was quick and impractical FOR LIGHT ARMOR AND NO ARMOR! this meant that hitting THOSE people was extremely difficult, however they are 1 shot kills when you manage to hit them, soooo debate that. Medium armor dodging got you just far enough away so that 5/10 times you evaded danger, however the stamina bar drained after just about 2 dodge rolls, good luck swinging a weapon in defense with NO STAMINA. And now for the heavy armor, the only people that can and will tell you they like the new system, why? Well because heavy armor had a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ version of a half scoot, it basically did nothing, so with this new update you get a dodge roll for heavy armor (applause) but the same dodge is applied to all armor and non armor conditions (fail). no armor to medium armor NEEDS a higher ability for escape do to the lack of ability to take a hit, end of story. Now for the momentum BS, imagine doing pvp and someone just does an insta-run, yeah that can be annoying. But you are not always fighting, what if you are at your crafting stations and going back and forth from chests, cupboards and furnaces to craft. Do you really need the frustration of watching your character have epileptic seizures as you keep changing directions around your base to craft items? Is that really needed instead of just being able to press forward and have your character complete the task? So again developers that decide what very specific people they want to change their game for WHILE still selling the IDEA that the game is open for how you want to play should be locked in a room and forgotten...forever. You cant tell people the game is for everyone and all play styles and that you are trying to keep things fair when that is FAR FROM THE TRUTH. This update forces specific play styles and that is a FACT. So be careful trusting anyone that tells you otherwise, this may only suite their SPECIFIC needs.

Update Dec.15th

A hotfix has been released downplaying the momentum changes, it is now "closer" to how it was before the patch. However the devs have stated they will keep the new dodge mechanic and will continue to tweak the "hammer" changes they made from the Dec.5th update. This review will remain the same until they make up their minds and deliver on the promise of pushing control of these changes over to the "servers." Only then can this game be free from radical changes and considered "playable" again. Until then I still CANNOT recommend this game...Do not buy it

Playing this game is like an abusive relationship, its great in the start, you build it up and gather dinos to tame and you love them with your heart, you give them names and you form a strong bond.

You expand your base and you're proud of your work and so you should be! you did all this by yourself.
then it happens...
you start to feel drained, chipped away, you did all this work and did your dinos help? nah fam, they watched you do it all.

You travel out on your favourite companion and fight side by side, nothing can stop you but then...something happens...either you lose connection or time out or press a button by accident and you either watch your partner die or you come back to you dead...you lost your stuff, your partner, your hope...everything. It drains you mentally and emotionally.

So you get the courage to leave, good for you, you have a new chapter in your life and you're happy...but then one day...like all of us...you come back and do it all over again.


TL;DR Ark is good game, ride dinos, its like crack you become addicted, say goodbye to your life

Amazing single player experience, it's a shame that Rockstar cancelled the single player DLCs to focus on GTA Online.

So I have played this game for a few hours now and I must say... wow... Just wow. I've never seen a game be so fun but also be such trash at the same time.

There are a multitude of issues with this game from balance issue on both survivor and killer side, such as crutch mechanics, broken killer abilities and addons. Same with perks on both sides. Some are not expressly broken but are completely unfun to deal with.

This game also has massive issues with hitboxes and server connections. The combination of the two will have you getting hit from china by the killer when you play survivor and missing grabs and hits as killer when playing against survivors.

The community... The community for the most part is toxic af and myself am guilty of this. A lot of the toxicity in this game stems from the broken/unbalanced/straight up unfun aspects of this game.

Other issues with this game include, poor optimization and ui design. The game does not run very well for a game that is not that graphically intense and from 2016 using the Unreal engine. Menus can be clunky and sometimes broken leading you to be kicked from your lobby just because you activate a challenge within the game. As I post this it's Dec. 15, 2019 and until about two months ago I could not run this game without massive stuttering issues unless I used a Nvidia driver that was almost a year old. I spent a lot of time looking into the issue and the best I could find from a rep from Behavior was that "it's windows 10's fault" But then about two months ago they updated their engine and now my issues is resolved... I still have an issues with crashes if I use the most recent drivers and try to play this game. My gpu is a 970, so if you have a 900 series card be cautious.

Oh, bugs. Lots and lots of bugs. Every month and a half and two months the have a mid chapter update and a chapter update, and I can not recall an update where they did not break some aspect of the game. Some of the greatest hits include being hit through solid objects, broken sound, falling through the map, being put in a certain part of the map and losing control of your character, getting a black of grey screen, randomly losing the ability use your keyboard in game (could still use it in google and other applications and in the game only after the match had ended), and others I can not recall.

Another thing I have a personal issues with is, the devs seem more interested in releasing cosmetics in their ingame shop than actually fixing the game. (If you like cosmetics, this game's got em in spades)

The game 'can' be great fun if played with friends. Though played solo it can also be fun but I would not hedge you bets on that.

At the end of the day, it's your money. If you want to try it out, go for it.

Better than Overwatch in my opinion.
