Do you know if it's possible to select a modpack to be automatically activated every time you log in?

Maybe you need to remove the quotes? It's been a while since last I did that.

As for the crash. Check your saves folders and make sure the permissions of the folders allow for programs to touch them, otherwise you could try launching the game as admin and that might fix the issue.

If you go to DST's mod folder, you can find a file called "modsettings.lua" which you can open in any text editor you want.

If you add:
ForceEnableMod("2966968749")
anywhere on a new line in the file it should force the modpacks mod to ALWAYS be enabled.

And in case you are curious, that seemingly random string of numbers is the mod id, and you can find the mod id of any mod by looking at the workshop pages URL, so if you want to force enable any other mods you can do this same process with the string of numbers found in any mods workshop page URL.
