Hi, I'm from the future 1 year later. Since I wrote this review we saw Halo Infinite release, Forza Horizon 5, Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker, and Monster Hunter Rise. And Elden Ring. And Lost ARK. Oh and Back 4 Blood and Battlefield (2042).

Games that updated? WARFRAME did. Sisters of Parvos, Operation Plaguetasy Star rerun (the first hour they had to hotfix the broken quest I don't know how DE could mess up re-releasing content), Prime Resurgence (debatable), The New War, Echoes of War, Angels of Zariman, and now Echos of Zariman. New zone, new weapons, new frames (characters), new story. They even have what we would call N-Personal Quarters. Eximus rework is mixed though. Console tenno keep acting like Easter worshippers asking for the cross in chat though. Cross evacuation.

Genshin Impact did too. As NGS was falling last summer, we seen Midsummer Island Adventure, The Immovable God and the Eternal Euthymia, Floating World Under the Moonlight, a debatable anniversary, Into the Perilous Labyrinth of Fog, Shadows Amidst Snowstorms, Fleeting Colors in Flight, When the Sakura Bloom, Zephyr of the Violet Garden, and now currently Hidden Dreams in the Depth. New zones, new weapons, new characters, new story. Oh and fishing, and instruments, and a giant fish weapons (the last 2 PSO2 Global never got).

You'll have to forgive me for not having played MONSTER HUNTER RISE, but I know Hunters are getting ready for Sunbreak to release.

Why are not NGS games in here? Because some of them were written down in name in a previous NGS Survey.

Here in NGS, what did we get? Retem and now Kvaris? Anything more? Those who survived the 1 year of accelerated content schedule that was PSO2 Global (or spent millions to rush affix their god units and refuse to play NGS until the level cap is 80), that must've been the 1 golden year because there is no going back. There was also a 9th anniversary event: enemies had snowflakes on their heads. Oh and Gigas who's deployment due to a number of issues ("random storms", and then predictable storms, and then actually random again...sigh..but thank you for your service Noxy and MysteriousAeon, and underleveled players just trying to do gathering and maybe contributing to its high HP) accidentally changed the tone of the player base to yelling profanities at new players who are literally just exploring outside of town. Speaking of, RIP scheduled UQs. But that's okay because what's always on the schedule is N-Mining Base. And then Fall came, Seasonal Snowflake enemies came back again. Oh hi Xiandy. Bouncer. Braver. And Halloween Snowflakes (rip UQ Halloween with the music). Retem came around here. It's sandy..as we approach winter. Remember that $40 Rappy Pack DLC you might've bought day 1? Yeeah about that. Now you can be Lv 35 and have a 5s weapon. Oh we gave titles back. I dunno why ARKS are so obsessed with that but whatever, enjoy. Also we gave N-Lookbook back. Yes, an update for a game about fashion and selling scratches took 6 months to give you back a 9 year old feature. Good thing the pale buff bug is fixed by now. It's Christmas. Enemies have Snowflake Snowflakes now.

Happy New Year. We have Stellar Graces now. The gold ones look more valuable but really it's just more Stellar Might Is. Here's a scratch for some Voices. You can't hear them in-game before you buy them though. Good luck. Our first N-Concert is finally here. Now you can be Lv 40 and do high rank BP farming in Aelio. Also UQ Dark Falz is finally here. He doesn't say anything. You just wack him for 10-15 minutes and then he leaves and maybe you get a Relik weapon or something. Repeat for the rest of the month. Especially you, you crazy US West ARKS who woke up at 4AM to do UQs and go back to sleep (unless if it was a rerun UQ). Only late shifts, landscapers, and ex military (which there are a lot of you in PSO2) get up at 4AM. It's Springtime ARKS. Enemies have Spring Snowflakes now. Oh and Xiandy's gone, now there's Xitre (rip Xia). Also UQ Flowers if you want SG. Speaking of SG you will want SG because we have the top voted PSO2 fashion item to get the HD treatment coming: N-Bunnysuit. Fashion is now over, you never have to buy another fashion again right? Hah. You can be Lv 45 now. Which is good because you probably want all the levels you can get in Geomretric Labyrinth. Oh and now we have Streamer Mode which might've been useful during that one promoted stream.... Happy Birthday 1st NGS (we are here). Enemies have Anniversary Snowflakes now. Here some more triggers and LQs. Here's N-Mining Base Redux. Here's Stellar Might Is. Here's Kvaris. New level cap! New weapons! New core game play loop experience? You probably want this insanely strong weapon that might be important to have in the future.

You still find ET, Gigas, an Dreads, in hopes you find some unusually rare item that increases your BP so you can farm better. And if you get any friends to try out NGS they have to do that too. Also, we are not posting the basically new weekly scratch list items on the website anymore. Some would say more scratches than content. Some would even say the scratches are the content. Others might even say the objective of the game is not that you farm, farm farm, up to a certain point so you can finally enjoy the game, it's that farming is the game.

PSO2 Global ARKS have been through a lot (PSO2JP more I'm sure like the hard drive deleting business). Since PSO2 Global released in the summer 2020 with an Xbox beta and an uncomical Microsoft Store PC launch 70GB forever corrupted, the Xbox Insider App dying for NGS Global Beta, "Maintenance, one more!", and "Sorry, X is broken, have some SG", the resource respawn rate (dailies) from open beta was intended also ARKS there is an error with the resource respawn rate that will be fixed next update have some SG, also the Salon might be bugged, pale bug; why do we fight? Will we forever age our GPUs (or Xbox) and heat up our rooms for the L4L parking lot? And quickjoin for UQs and log out? And take dank ass bunny swimsuit and hoodie bloom heavy virtual short sighted and high color contrast screenshots with our friends at the beach?

Yes, we will be playing Phasion Star Online 2. Because that is still PSO2 and NGS's pro and strong point. I don't deny it. If you like fashion and 3d chatrooms, NGS might be your new favorite game. Buy AC. If you seek combat that reminds you of PSO2..maybe not. If you enjoy a game where watching numbers go up brings you joy, welcome home.

You will not look as good in any other MMO as you will in NGS. Definitively not in WARFRAME. Go home FashionFrame. Take your Wisp, Damas Helmet, Repala Syandana, and the colors red, black, and purple; you could never compete. You can take your Edo Prime too, we have so many accessories you wouldn't believe. Eorzeans look cool though. And take pictures with friends. Or just take sneaky pics of strangers in the lobbies who are AFK. But the devs took "fashion is end game" and "phasion star online 2" a bit too serious with game play feeling like a KR MMO combat where you press 1 button to farm. Still perhaps you, reader of reviews, might find gold in this game. The remaining surviving ARKS who by now have not (or are unable to) fled are generally optimistic, if not back to where they were in early 2021 in the end of days of PSO2 Global which is "waiting for ngs", but many ARKS, apart from showing up on Wednesday in pacific morning to do dailies, twice a month to see new scratches, or Saturday evening in US West to do Challenge Block, many ARKS are 'waiting for NGS' elsewhere, as they have been since NGS supposedly released 1 year ago.

Sonic Frontiers?: A number of ARKS had said the recent trailer them looked a lot like NGS but one meme comment in a forbidden forum I cannot unsee which said the following:

It's not Sonic Frontiers looks like NGS.

It's that NGS looks like Sonic Frontiers.

Good luck in Late 2022-Early 2023.

A friend gifted me this after he found out I bought an HTC VIVE last year to join the height of the successfully marketing meme the VRChat Knuckles "do you know the way" meme. For sure it is a good "first time VR game" for if you have friends over and you want to show them VR, or show off your sick reloading and shooting skills.

The reviewers above and below say better than I could.

If you like sandbox environments with piles and piles of "over 150" guns, shooting them at virtual robot hot dogs, stationary target challenges, doing wacky reloading like that one YouTuber, or just dual wielding machine guns with all fail Mall Ninja scopes and accessories mounted on them, you might like H3VR. I admit I'm biased + self fulfilling prophecy when I say H3VR is better than the other "VR Gun Range" offering on Steam right now.

I will add after the easily amused newbie phase was over, the M.E.A.T.S. (official dev log here)* https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=emjOiYrmy6I

...is probably one of my favorite modes so far, but specifically "Spray n' Pray" category. They recommend grabbing your favorite full auto and painting the walls with lead but a friend and I limited ourselves using semi-automatic handguns like the Beretta M9 with the M9A3 sand resistant magazine.

Of course it's not a fun full auto leisure shoot like Borderlands 2 so given the slower rate of fire we're not making it to the high score but I've yet to see another VR game that allows us to virtually practice shooting skills such as awareness, scanning, and engaging multiple targets from 360 directions, while maintaining a constant rate of fire transitioning between those multiple targets, while having to reload periodically (reloading in H3VR of course is a cake walk compared to real life), while on a timer/light stress, and even mental fitness (being overwhelmed with difficult, sometimes impossible odds but not giving up, maintaining your stance and focus, and still fighting for your life or high score), all of which could be skills that carry over in shooting real guns, maybe hunting, competition/sport, or personal self defense. Of course there's limitations: VIVE wands, though adequate, don't draw, holster, weigh or feel exactly like a S&W M&P 9c 1.0, don't recoil or reload like one either, and you're certainly not paying ~$0.25 CPR for CBC brand 9MM rounds, but for working on some principles you can get pretty close

Who would have known for practicing gun, a VR place to train was hiding in a meme game with a goofy name.

If I was required to have a compliant, a neutral one is the track pad on my right hand controller (I'm right handed) is wearing out and starting to lose functionality on the left side and now I have to violate the joke HTC warranty by disassembling it because I was reloading guns in this game so much trying to be Jerry Miculek because the game is too fun. Curse you RUST LTD. for making what is now my most played VR game on HTC VIVE and causing me to actually use my controller until the track pad wears down to a well documented VIVE issue.

Another neutral compliant could be lack of multiplayer. This sandbox game is already a social experience when friends are over so I'm sure naturally few would oppose being able share that experience in MP. I lack any Unity net code programming knowledge so I can't attempt to comprehend the difficulties of trying to make it MP every time someone on the Steam discussion board says "Anton pls" (Anton is a dev)

Also neutral compliant is having played for a bit I realized how small my room is for VR because man I wish I could even get close to the 15 ft x 15 ft "maximum" play space size, you could probably clear an the entire floor of the house breaching target course without teleporting

you can become an escaped lab gorilla, break fellow gorilla brothers out of labs, give them guns, and then attack more bandit bases with your armed gorilla brothers

and then when you get hurt you can eat bananas and throw banana peels on the ground to trip bandits who step on them and then beat them again

10/10 would harambe experience again

Take away the guns, models, monsters, maps, and style from this Unreal Tournament 2004 mod and what you end up with is where your started, Unreal Tournament 2004 Invasion.

It's not boring and repetitive like Brainbread where you pop easy heads behind sandbags with Sawnoffs for 25 minutes or Sven Co-op where you go Rambo race to the end of the default HL campaign maps. There's variables like weapon, amount of money, perk, strengths, weaknessess, health, map location, weapon skill, healing skill, game difficulty, and even the type and amount of monsters approaching to test your target priority.

Take those and multiply it by 6 to account to a full perked server, maybe with mods, and you'll see why Killing Floor has to be the finest defensive co-op I've seen in a long time, because with all the possibly bad spawns and bad moves and choices, this is what co-op is intended to be.

And it only costs a month of Doritos and soda, so you'll have enough to buy a microphone too help out more..
