Another Civ game that'll be demonstrably worse than the previous for a year, until it's finally fixed by an expansion (that you need to pay for, of course)
At this rate I feel like Civ 5 was an accident, with how great it turned out. Everything else lives in its shadow. I wanted to like this game, but I just don't. Game speed feels off, seems way too fast. Not enough leader and civ selection.

Early Access Review
Has its flaws (it's an early access release) but overall I am impressed. A marked improvement over Path of Exile 1 in a lot of ways.

Less of an expansion, more of a paid season. Definitely not worth the asking price of $40. Hard pass.

Had a small crashing issue on Day 1 (Only crashed 2 or 3 times in 6 hours of gameplay). Ever since that, haven't experienced another. Been playing with a stack of friends, varying in size from 2-4. Game is honestly great, really intense on high difficulty. Really captures the complete hell-on-earth struggle for survival vibe against a horde of aliens (or robots)

12hrs deep now, I continue look forward to the next time I get to play. Game is great, would recommend it. Especially for the asking price of $40 where other game developers would ask $70 for a game of this quality and fun.

If you're a fan of Bethesda games and know what you're getting yourself into - there is plenty of fun to be had here.
If you're not, or more specifically if you hated Fallout 4 and/or Skyrim, I would recommend passing - or at least waiting for a sale. There is some truth to the whole 'it gets good after 12 hours' discourse. The game is definitely a slow start, probably the slowest of any single-player RPG I have ever played. It's not lost on me that won't be for everyone, and I can totally see people bouncing off the game for that fact alone. But if you were really fiending for another Bethesda-style sandbox to play, there is plenty to sink your teeth into here. I would recommend pursuing the Crimson Fleet (Pirate faction) quest line, by far the game's highlight for me.

Larian has made a very strong contender for Game of the Year here in Baldur's Gate 3. I went into this thinking I wasn't going to love it as much as I did. I spent 52 hours effortlessly doing my first playthrough of the game - and by the end of it, there were still things I missed and knew I could go back to. Choices I could have made differently. If I was diligent and spent the time to see everything in one playthrough, I have zero doubt that playtime could be closer to 100 hours.

When the credits rolled, I didn't dust my hands and put it down. My thoughts instantly went to playing it a second time, doing things differently. There is something truly worthy of sinking your teeth and time into here.

I don't think I have ever seen a game get so consistently worse year-by-year than Overwatch. This game is a shell of its former self from 2016.

Don't let Blizzard fool you, the single reason this is released on Steam now is a last attempt to get money from you during this game's long and drawn-out downfall by touting its free to play nature - just to get you paying for its battlepass, heroes locked behind said battlepass, and skins.

You'll note the other reason Overwatch 2 was made, the PvE mode, is not in the game and was cut. But rest assured, the new micro-transaction system sure made it in. That should speak volumes. Your time is more valuable than this game is in 2023, don't waste it here.

Pretty much an improvement over the previous game in every single way. If you liked the first Remnant game, well... this is just more Remnant- but better. Couldn't recommend it more. Didn't put it down since I started playing in the early access window, pretty much.

I guess the only caution I would give, is that the game does seem to have some performance issues. I was able to get it playable by just using DLSS, but it'd be nice if it didn't require it to run smoothly, especially on above average hardware at 1080p. While I was able to get it to run fine, other's mileage may vary- that just tends to be how these things work. A few months after release and this issue still exists, where it's only really possible to get an really good frame rate by using DLSS, even on high end hardware.

Despite that one issue, and with the addition of the new Awakened King DLC, my stance hasn't changed, this game is still a big improvement over its previous and a ton of fun.

The game Battlefield 2042 wishes it was.
