Thank you so much for your detailed response.

Based on your input, I think I will skip this game.

Thank you again and please have a safe Independence Day. 🙂

Phosphor and Toni said their plan was to support the game for 1 year of development and that it should then be complete. I said then and there that this was overly optimistic and the game wouldnt be ready, and so far I stand by that. I'd expect about 2 years of work to finalize the game, longer if Phos keeps fearing to release updates.

Good news is Phos and Toni hired a new crew member, Botanist, who does communicate actively, so many of my complaints are subsiding and I genuinely believe the game will turn out lovely.

Feel free to dm directly so i actually see, usually have a few dozen steam notifications. https://discord.gg/55BFsShpCN Endstate official discord
from there, reach out to me (Brett) directly.

There is a little bit of a roadmap but its vague. The biggest hurdle is that Phosphor (the lead dev) seems to have a bit of OCD - in the genuine sense - and is terrified to an unreasonable level of releasing anything that is not perfect. I and a few other fans (who also became mods) basically twisted his arm and harassed him into releasing the game itself so he'd stop reinventing the entire game and actually make progress. So while there are plans for the game that have been highlighted, it is my belief that he rewrites those plans on his own often as well. At the moment the focus is on core mechanics - enemy behavior, magazines, getting a functional shop and item progression, getting the core gameplay to be solid enough to make a full campaign worth playing.
As far as I can see, alpha will just be all of the mechanics being perfected, beta will be the storyline and other levels, full release should be when the story is complete. some of this is speculation on my part.

oh, flag, didnt see youd commented here.

I'm very open with the fact im displeased at the level of *communication* from the devs of endstate, i've voiced this often for years, and they made me the community's first moderator anyways, so at the very least they can handle criticism, which i respect, as opposed to devs like Dead Matter who just ban anyone that isnt positive. As for rate of updates, i think they'd be fine if the devs would just speak about the reasoning for delays as they happen instead of not speaking until after the delay is over and the patch is ready.

Good day.

I wanted to ask: how do you feel about the progress of End State now?

Do you think it is still receiving updates at a reasonable pace? Do you know of a road map? Beta plans?

Thank you in advance.
