Early Access Review
Enshrouded has some of the best building mechanics of any survival/crafting game I've played in the last decade. If you enjoy building in games, you'll probably enjoy this. The combat can be a bit janky, with the usual Souls-Like parrying and a decently sized skill tree to focus into with focuses in range, magic and melee. I can't say it's my favourite part of the game but it's still more fleshed out than most games in its genre.

The world is a fixed map which I actually find refreshing compared to the usual procedural generation of other survival games, and has plenty of named locations to scour for items and resources.

My only critique is the story is... Kind of lame. Maybe I'm a bit fatigued with grim, "the world has ended" stories but after the opening cutscene I just couldn't bring myself to sit and read through any further lore, only paying attention to NPC dialogue. For an early access game, Enshrouded is in a very strong state from its launch, and looks to continue improving as time goes by. Can't wait to see the full 1.0 launch!
