what sucks is that crossout has some very fun ideas behind it. if it wasnt mega grind simulator then i would play it almost ALL THE TIME. heck, maybe id even spend money on it if i enjoyed it and it wasnt a grind. but all that appeal is lost when they promote the game via youtubers that they gift a bunch of free high-tier parts and stuff. then you get to the game and it takes 6 hours of grinding just to craft the most basic powered melee weapon.

and not just that, i still remember something from Crossout's VERY EARLY DAYS
the race gamemode. not community created. i miss it alot. i still have my vehicle saved that i was going to use for it, because i was so excited i built a vehicle before i even had the mode unlocked.

idk. i have very little respect to the devs since i literally stopped playing for 6 years and the most complained about problem has not even attempted to be fixed.

it was fun. i played a while on it. but this isnt a game i can come back to easily. its very grind-heavy, prices for vehicles are ridiculous. a lot of vehicles are way too expensive, and some are not expensive enough. not to mention, that there really isnt any good scaling with the game. you earn barely any % more money as you level up, and it really isnt enough.

game was fun for a bit, but it really gets held back by progression, replay-ability, and limited-time events and cosmetics

i wanted to try and collect every "classic" car in the game. for many hundreds of hours this was the only reason i didn't quit. then when they started having these limited edition vehicles, i gave up. vehicles i almost could never have or are wildly expensive for no real reason.

i highly recommend against buying this game.

its fine. i guess. the problem is that it gets way too much attention from the devs and they dont do much for the base game. it also undermines the entire point of the base game, which is to "search and rescue"

it adds things that really should just be in the base game. it just sucks that i have to pay these scummy devs to get what should just be a free expansion.

just look at the other bad reviews. the devs dont seem to care all that much anymore about the features the community wants most. i find the game fun, but i hate it more every day when the devs break, remove, or render useless another feature. they focus on DLC and not on base game.

the game needs hella optimization and in its current state multiplayer DOESNT WORK.

fix the dam game, devs.

UPDATE:
the new dlc is cool and all, but im still not recommending this game. the devs need to take a break from all the damn DLC's and focus on fixing the main game

UPDATE 2: surprise surprise, the devs didnt test the most recent update and it broke almost all modular engines! way to go, devs. great freakin job.

here are my thoughts:

time to time, i find myself actually wanting to build Search & Rescue vehicles, but when it comes time to test them, like 95% of the missions are just... dead feeling. no sense of urgency (rip sharks) no sense of real success either since they are usually stupidly easy.
and the rest of the 5%? broken.

what about S&R where the player has to respond to a reactor meltdown?
what about an actively sinking ship?
Submarine quickly running out of air?
thats what stormworks needs. not space.

I'm not one for horror games, but this game is completely different from your average low budget jumpscare game. i was so invigorated with the story and i just cant say enough. and the ending as well, god, the emotions i felt. and i'm not an emotional person normally.

the music, amazing. the gameplay, amazing. the plot, amazing.
i literally can't give this game enough praise. if you're reading this just go buy it already

very good game! It's kinda like asteroids but with deck-building mechanics and enemies. so fun!
