Nerfdivers II

I should love this game. I keep coming back hoping I can see past the issues, but they are growing faster and becoming more game destroying.
The fun is being sapped, the Meta is forced for survival,

It showed so much promise
☐ By design it's perfect for a solo challenge or chaotic team gameplay,
☐ The mechanics of passive, alerted and agro (& how they spread) enemies means tactics can be a mission saver, or you could just hope you have enough firepower and shoot your way in/out
☐ Between picking the right Stratagem and Weapons for the mission,
☐ The the combat options of going loud, using stealth or combination of the two,
☐ Combat is not just taking HP off a target till it’s dead,
☐ Some lovely attention to detail in environmental storytelling, weapon/turret/stratagem design/functions.


Or at least it was,
Following several Patches that were aimed at ‘Ballance’, by a dev team that did not play their own game (and still don't at mid-high level, as stated in their own posts),

☐ The identity of individual weapons has been further lost than they were,
Stratagems are regaining their individuality and uses,

☐ New Enemy types that are only vulnerable to a small collection of weapons, vastly limiting viable loadouts.

☐ New/Amended elements/enemies get partially made.
EG: Existing secondary could be pinged and they would show on the map. None of the new stuff does this: Gunship Towers, Shrieker Nest, SAM Sites, & after being tweaked Spore Spewer don’t.

☐ Between the Weapon 'Balancing’ Nerfs, & enemy buffs. Most are now just bullet/laser/explosive/fire sponges. This further pushes all Helldivers to Meta loadouts. (how boring)

From day 1 to now, ❌❌
☐ There is no reason to destroy enemy bases (unless affecting an area you'll be in for a while, ie: Stratagem Jammer), they do not spawn the roaming patrols or have any effect on the number or enemy you encounter or that come after you during exfil.
They are a colossal waste of in game time, ammo & reinforcements.
Along with a huge missed gameplay potential for the Helldiver to shape a mission!

☐ Patrols just pop into existence. It’s not even subtle or out of LOS or from any spawn point.
They just poof, and now they are there.

☐ The Co-Op is very limited.
Others bring more weapons, yes.
Team reloads seems like a good idea, but the faster fire rate of 1 does not take away from the loss of a 2nd gun/firepower.
1 POI forces 2 players to press buttons together, also Shafts Solo play.
There is nothing else…

☐ Enemy corpses that you can't walk or shoot through, but your enemy can!
(& when they block an objective?)
☐ Solo/team wipe = spawn trapping by AI that forces you to drop into the same enemy that killed you!
☐ The abysmally low cap on resources, that has you farming for 1 of 5-6 res, whilst 3-4 are almost constantly at max/going to waste.
Once you buy 1 new thing, you need all at almost max before you can buy anything else!
☐ The ‘live map’ often means that a very limited type of planets are available to do mission on (why would you play on an unliked map type?), with an alarming level of “similarity”.
They are the same, bar name & system location.


☐ Known issues:
🔸 Sights are not zeroed, Still! This is a shooting game, how can this not be fixed?
🔹 Stratagems stick/bounce on terrain inconsistently/randomly,
🔸 Doing actions quickly can completely bork ADS, the camera can/has ended up 000’s or meters away!
🔹 Explosions clip through solid objects/terrain, unless it's yours vs the enemy,
🔸 Bots shooting through, even walking through solid objects! (rare but becoming more common)
🔹 Enemy becoming stuck under/in objects/terrain (& occasionally also you), they can still shoot you & call reinforcements, you can do nothing!
🔸 Known Issues removed from patch notes despite not being completely fixed,

☐ Ragdolling! Holly ****
Hope you enjoy being Stun Locked, or shoved into a rock on the other side of the planet by a plant!
This is getting worse with every new enemy, every new patch, and they finally added it as an issue.
Yet looking back at what else they said they would fix and how they haven't, I do not expect it soon, if at all.


If you want to play the best version of this game, you're going to have to either pray they get their act together for the future or build a time machine. Cos whats here aint it, & that is a damn shame.

Sony are still blocking 170+ counties from playing,
after they once let them buy and play the game!
