If you're a DQ fan, especially of the older titles like I am, then this game is about as faithful of a remaster as you're ever going to get. Do I think the translation is a bit shoddy and the town/class names are wrong? Yes. Do I think the lips on the ogres should be fixed, the pants on the female fighter, and the male/female options need to be restored? Yes...but thankfully a mod fixes all of those things and puts them back the way Yuji Hori and Toriyama-san would have wanted.

There are other little gripes I have like the monster wrangler class being mandatory for all melee characters as a sub class since their Pile-On skill is the best and cheapest pure DPS attack in the game...but hey, it is what it is. The game is a great trip down memory lane and with proper modding, a respectful one to boot.
