This is a positive review, but I can't recommend the game in its current state.

What's better than previous games:
Monster Variety
Monster Design
Area Amount
Armour Variety
Armour Design
Base Game Mechanics
Handler doesn't try to kill herself 24/7

What's iffy about the game:
Hunting loop (Unsure what to think of the auto travel of the mount)

What's worse than other games:
Mount (controls worse than rises somehow, and loves to obstruct the screen when fishing)
Monster difficulty (I did zero grinding for the entirety of the campaign, maybe I finally got good?)
Some moments of the campaign are really slow
Frame rate (can be made more appeasing with settings tweaks tho)

IDK if I would feel different about this game if I had payed for it, maybe the gift of getting it from a friend for free really did allow me to enjoy it.
