I really like all of the ideas in Millennia, and I keep coming back to it in the hopes that I'll have a better experience the next time, having learned more of the game's concepts... but actually, it never gets better. Millennia is very frustrating, and lacks many QoL features we've come to expect from 4x type games. Given time, I'm sure Millennia will be an outstanding game, but currently it clearly lacks the "Early Access" label in the store, which would've made me more forgiving of the lack of polish (and even features, like the missing multiplayer, or the fact that scouts can't auto-explore, requiring you to actively control all of them) or more forgiving of the fact that I cannot finish a game on my computer: Millennia just crashes given a standard map size and given enough turns in the late game (final age). My computer isn't the best, but the game clearly wasn't using even 50% of any of the resources my computer has. So, all in all, I can't recommend it as of yet, perhaps only to the most diehard of 4x fans who are craving new experiences. Everyone else can come back once the invisible "Early Access" label can no longer be felt.

This is the best platformer in recent memory by far. The movement is smooth, the animations are funky, and the soundtrack is filled with bangers. If you enjoy platformers to any extent, this is a must.

The steam overlay covers the game when you press the right combination of keys. As any student of the Histories would know, there is no steam overlay.

the music and story have yolo and the gameplay has swag... beautiful
