(I played this game back in the day and had a little over 200 hours)

If someone where to ask me "What is your favorite combat system in any game" I would immediately say Vindictus but this game does everything else so wrong.

Abilties feel amazing, combat feels amazing, progression though?...

Progression feels ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awful. Not only do you grind and grind and grind but its not even a fun grind, and on top of that when you DO get to upgrade a weapon ITS RNG WHETHER OR NOT IT ACTUALLY UPGRADES.

On top of that it runs off a "instance" system which I always didn't like about this game, and now there is basically 0 players so you cant even get into a game if you want to.

So this game is basically a town and then a boat and then you just kinda teleport to all these interesting places instead of them spending time on actually making a world that felt amazing.

If this game had just fixed progression I would have easily given it a 8/10, if this game also had an open world it would have no doubt in my mind been the best game in the world 10/10 (My own personal WoW killer)

But as it stands now?...

1/10

Combat is cool. Thats it.

EDIT: I've been informed they put an energy bar into the game basically telling people they cant play the game even if they want to HAHAHAHAHAHAHA Not like they give a ♥♥♥♥ about their players anyways

0/10 game

I played this game in beta so things may have changed but when I played all abilities were very boring and you couldnt really come up with new ways to play so every game feels like a mindless gunfighter.

If you like fortnight you'll love it, if you like mmo's or literally anything else that sports abilities and interesting gameplay then this isn't for you.

2/10

I enjoy all aspects of this game expect the fact that there are literally 0 combos. There are certain items that when you have 2 they upgrade another weapon and "duck tape" which allows you to tape two guns together to make fun and interesting combinations but that is where it ends.

Overall I'd rate the game 6/10

It is indeed a very fun game and the visuals, gameplay, and all of that feel wonderful. But every single game feels the exact same to me as I never feel like I can use my creativity to win and its more about just getting a busted weapon or never getting hit.

The combat is one of the best feeling combats I have ever played and the movement and characters feel absolutely amazing.

That is were my love for this game ends.

The gamemodes are boring, the 2v2 aspect is boring, there is no mindgames more just mindlessly whacking people.

Customization is cool but there feels to be a lack of genuinely interesting characters and they all kind of feel the same with one skill changed and a different coat of paint.

Nothing wrong about the balance or combat, it is just so boring I couldn't stay awake during a match.

10/10 combat
0/10 actual gameplay

After years and years the game has come around to be... somewhat alright. A lot of the old completely unbalanced stuff has been reworked to be at least standable, and now killers seem to be the ones dominating games with so many perks to slow down gameplay. There are still multiple overpowered things in this game but its nothing like it used to be. Toxicity has gone down substantially but I think that is due to a community evolving and accepting parts of the game. Overall the game is a 5/10 just barely scraping by for a recommendation.

The devs are not the brightest. They still have no idea how to balance, and they constantly want to push new changes that dramatically change how the game is played but I can at least give them credit that it is a 4 v 1 game and that sort of balance is hard to strike.

I enjoy the setting of Darkest Dungeon a lot but the only reason I do not play this game more is I feel the combat is a little repetitive even only after 11 hours and RNG is heavy in combat.

I understand that combat is suppose to be hectic and that is part of the appeal but it isn't really my taste.

Also the ability customization is very minimal and you generally just throw people at dungeons and do the same thing over and over.

3/10 combat wise
10/10 asthetic and art wise

VRChat is a very fun game to play to meet new people and even to make friends but I personally wish making custom avatars was not such a demanding task taking up to 100 hours to even learn the basics.

Slay the Spire is a rougelike card game that pioneered genres like it. I like and dislike the game for different reasons.

If you are here for a rating I would rate it 6/10

The reason I enjoy this game is that it is a rougelike that offers a lot of unique ways to play and allows you to create game breaking combos that can win the game outright. Many of these ways of play are very interesting and unique and are a ton of fun to go to the end game with.

The reason I don't enjoy this game is that I personally find interactions with cards and passives that do these sorts of combos the most fun and this game isn't made to be played like this. This game wants you to scrape by with the bare minimum and unique gameplay is few and far between in my experience.

Most types of interesting passives and cards are locked behind bosses which means you must at least get to a boss to find something that could make the run unique, most times though you don't find anything of the sort which in my opinion makes the game overall less fun. And if you reset you can get 1 boss item at the start which is kind of nice but if you get something you don't enjoy and you reset to get rid of it you cannot start with another boss item as you must have killed the first boss of a floor to get that option, which once again makes it down to luck if you want to have fun.

On top of that any time you do find something that makes the run unique you will not have anything to combo with it as everything in this game boils down to luck. It's luck that you find something fun, it's luck that you find a card that can do something with it, and the only skill in this game is deciding on how much you weigh on that luck.

If this game gave way more control over starting with at least 1 unique item you mostly got to pick yourself that made ALL runs fun, even in an rng resetting over and over kind of way, then I would immediately give this game a 9/10 but the luck saps any interesting runs out of existence which saps my fun as well.

I have been in love with Path of Exile and its developers for years and years. I have never once been worried the developers would implement something that would have unforeseen consequences and to this day I still have never once lost faith in GGG.

If you were to ask me why I enjoy this game the core of my enjoyment is the vast amounts of skills that can be modified as you so desire to create abilities that feel almost unfair on top of the endless skill tree that makes you feel as though you are breaking the game. Then the developers put you into a setting which thrives on that. Giving you tons and tons of enemies and making you feel like the most powerful man ever to live.

The game itself is straightfoward, kill everything. It is a good strategy considering the amount of time you spend creating a character and its nice to know the developers are on the same page.

I'd rate this game 7.5/10

Why such a low score? Keep reading and I will explain in detail

There is only a few issues I have with this game. While the core of the gameplay is perfect I feel end game is to confusing and hard for even myself (800 hours as of this review.) Crafting weapons that can be considered amazing is basically left to only the most wealthy players which also leads into my second problem with the game. Wealth is very very hard to come by. While many enjoy the economy, I personally find it a hindrance as I just want to create fun and interesting characters.

This means that even in my 800 hours of gameplay if there is only one single piece of armor that does an effect I need and a lot of other people use it for a general upgrade that means the armor will cost hundreds of exalts (Which isn't viable for solo non-crafting/non-flipping players to achieve) basically meaning I cannot play what I feel would be a fun way to play. Locking away any hope of playing something I find interesting and thus locking away what I would deem as fun from a "casual" player.

Nevertheless the game is fun and you can find many budget character builds online, just don't expect to afford to make your own unique way to play until very very much later

The Binding of Isaac and all the DLC make up one of the most interesting and fun rougelike experiences I have ever played an continues to be one of my all time favorite games through the years. If you are even remotely into rougelikes I recommend this game! Between all of the items, combinations, bosses, characters, gamemodes, challenges, and all of these things interacting with each and every character differently I can whole heartedly say that you will only be bored if you let yourself be bored.

Overall I rate the game 9.9/10 with my only complaint being that there are a lot of items I feel don't contribute to interesting runs and I find myself resetting a lot of starts to get something fun, but the game understands that and gives you a quick restart using "R" on your keyboard which gives me little reason to be bothered.
