When I was young my father would tell me stories about it.
내가 어렸을 때, 내 아버지는 내게 이것에 관한 이야기를 들려주셨어.

Long ago, in ancient times, a demon rebelled against his own kind for the sake of the human race.
먼 옛날, 고대에 한 악마가 인간 종족을 위해 그의 동족들에 맞섰다.

With his sword, he shut the portal to the demonic realm and sealed the evil entities off from our human world.
그의 검으로, 그는 마계로 통하는 입구를 닫았고 악의 존재들을 우리의 인계에서 떨어트려 봉인했다.

But since he was a demon himself, his power was also trapped on the other side.
하지만 그 역시 악마였기 때문에, 그의 힘 역시 다른 편에 갇히고 말았다.

I never believed it.
난 결코 그걸 믿지 않았어.

I thought it was just a child's fairy tale.
나는 이것이 단지 아이들의 동화일 뿐이라고 생각했지.

But I discovered that this so-called legend wasn't a myth at all.
하지만 나는 소위 말하는 이 전설이라는 것이 전부 꾸며낸 이야기가 아니라는 걸 발견했어.

Sparda existed.
스파다는 존재했다.

How do I know?
그걸 어떻게 알았냐고?

Well……
그래...

I met the sons of Sparda--Both of them.
난 스파다의 아들들을 만났어 - 둘 다.

Though the same blood of their father flowed through their veins, the two battled each other fiercely like arch enemies.
그들의 핏줄 속에 아버지의 같은 피가 흐르고 있음에도 불구하고, 둘은 서로 가장 큰 적인냥 맹렬하게 싸웠지.

It seemed as if they derived some sort of twisted pleasure from this brotherly fighting.
마치 그들은 그 형제간의 싸움에서 뒤틀린 즐거움의 어떤 종류를 끌어내는 것 같았어.

But in the end……only one was left standing.
하지만 결국...단 한 명만이 서 있었지.
