First of all, this is not a biased review because I barely touched Granblue Versus since I'm not into fighting games.

This game is good, and feels modern, a good direction that almost every JRPG should step in. There are some negative aspects, of course, but I could not expect less from Japanese and Asian devs overall since grinding is their formula, and they will never change. Talking about their formula the shallow quests also are part of that, all of the side-quests are fetch quests(you bring an object, kill something) do not expect a background history of some character, they are all meaningless.

Aside the grinding this a great game to welcome JRPG newcomers since the pace of the game is very fast, some old-school JRPGers won't like that, my first JRPG was Chrono Trigger, and I was not bothered by that since I cannot afford reading walls of text nowadays without getting bored.

The combat in this game feels very fluid to an extent that every JRPG should follow, imagine Tales of Arise but better, visuals are very similar, too. There are some boss fights that you feel playing a raid boss from FFXIV or World of Warcraft, visuals and SFX are amazing.

This game also features a great OST, some tracks are memorable, the one I liked more was the Ice map one(Mt. Neigelith), there are some pieces of music that seem to come from other games like Xenoblade Chronicles, overall it is a great OST.
If you want to platinum this game prepare yourself for an infinite grind, for you to get all weapons LOTS OF TONS of materials will be needed, either you level up 4 characters, and even tho 3 of them will feel weak, or form a group on Discord to farm Proto Bahamut endlessly, the boss drops the Terminus Weapons which are required to platinum the game, this boss fight is like 8 mins to 15 mins long and the drop rate is very low.

Pros
-Combat
-Visuals
-OST
-Pace of the game

Cons
-Side Quests
-The Infinite Grind
-EN sub(I played with JP sub obviously)
-Reused assets

tl;dr
great game, great visuals, kinda short, reskinned stuff all over, but a good game, would recommend.

I can't make a review for this game without spoiling, this thing hit me in a way that I cannot describe.
This game was a roller coaster of sadness, sorrow, joy, happiness, and melancholy, altogether.

Glorious plot, ignore people who say the game is a copy-paste of the first game, it does have everything the first game had, but better.

OST is better than ever

Side quests do add a lot of background to the existing history of the game, and yes, the eight characters intertwine in a given moment.

If you like the JRPG genre, and feel the need of turn-based combat this game is a must.

9.5/10

Recensione della versione in accesso anticipato
Good game overall, it is an early access game, controls are kinda clunky sometimes but the combat is creative to an extent since the game mix some fighting games mechanics.
Level design is OK for a Metroidvania game, but the rewards and normal bosses are a lackluster as they are too easy, and the rewards do not compensate too much before you reach Stage bosses.

Stage bosses is a boss rush mode from 1 to 5 adding a lot more difficulty, it is necessary for you to have a weapon that can parry attacks otherwise it is IMPOSSIBLE.
I was able to platinum the game within 14 hours and I recommend this game because the combat is creative, maps are ok, character design is bad, items are mixed feelings, and a lot more QoL can be added to the game like synthesis to items to make ingots into ore and disassemble what you do not use.

Give the game a chance if you are looking for a Metroidvania.

Started the game with the feeling this was going to turn-out as a 2D pixel-art Souls like game, but I got tricked.

The items make no sense at all in keeping them, the "upgrade" system is shallow, tons of runes and tons of weapons drop all the time with no reward feeling at all.

Maps are a big mess, if there were no maps I would not bother because you can't seem to guide through the maps of the game with the map pieces you get . Also, such a bad design when you can only access the map via "bonfire."

Boss design was too easy, at least for me, I could do all the bosses without taking damage with no sweat because the character has a limited move set so the enemies, still controls were so clunky sometimes that the game got harder 'cause of that.

Given these problems I'd not recommend this game.
tl;dr bad game design, bad level design, bad AI, bad plot, only the art saves the game.

As a big fan of the From Software games since Demon's Souls, I gotta say that Sekiro has the most pleasant and fluid combat of the Series, and I am really happy that Activision had nothing to do with the development of the game.

Some complain the game offer too many cheese and ways to avoid direct combat, but that's the nature of Sekiro. Sekiro himself is a shinobi.

Some claim this game is harder than Dark Souls, but it is a matter of skill on this case. I dominated how to deflect(similar to parry) and Sekiro has infinite run, so I can deflect, do not take dmg and still manage to spring while side-stepping. For me, Sekiro was easier than Dark Souls. Also, some people call Demon of Hatred a bad design choice. The boss in particular, in my opinion, is a homage to Dark Souls because everything you learned through the game fades to dust, it is a Dark Souls boss, and it is not hard.

Talking about the game and not my personal taste/deeds it deserved 2019's goty, the scenarios, combat, story everything is so beautiful, clean and fluid. From Software kinda tried to put items that explain the story in a more clear way and that worked, the lore isn't so nebulous.

For me, this is a 9.5/10 game. If Elden Ring manages to be as good as Sekiro we have a new 2021 GOTY contender if the 30 June release rumor is true.

Engaging game with good mechanics, do not let the visuals, it might look childish for some people but its core mechanics are thrilling.
Crown Trick does not fail to deliver a roguelike plus dungeon crawler experience with a myriad of builds to unfold this makes the game more engaging each time you beat or fail a stage.

Give it a try if you like roguelike and dungeon crawler games.
