Simple straight to the point and this is just the start. Hopefully the future will be bright for this game.

Oh yeah lots of sweats. Glorious.

Aged and hold itself really well considered this game came out in 2010. The voice acting is beyond amazing (not just Mark's Joker) so are the extra secrets to get more background information about the villains. That is a nice touch and adds substance to the game.

I did like the fact that you don't just brute force your way through the game, stealth is also important makes it feel like more of a Batman's style and it makes you think and move around so you can pick off the enemies one by one apart. Feels really satisfying.

Boss fights were nice also, not all of them were about bring villain to 0 hp and you win. Really nice mix of combat and puzzles and that can be said about the game in general also.

Batman fan or not for sure a nice single player game to have in your collection.

Only minor thing I didn't like is i have no control over my save file. While the game doesn't put you in a weird situation but I do like to keep 2-3 save files so if something goes wrong I don't lose a lot of time from last time saved nor from getting back to where I was. Funny enough there was a bug where I clipped between two npc chars and got stuck and had to restart the game. But that is all the minor complain I have for this one.

Game deserved the praises it got from all those years ago. I can see that now that I played it.

Major tip: DO NOT! pick Sacred Coil investigation to do first!! (the one all the way on the right). Maybe they will balance the last mission of it in the future but as of now, It goes from 7 dial up to 11 in 1 go. And you won't be geared enough to deal with it. Pain in the ass last mission and you might have to redo the encounter a few times and rely on some good rng turns and making some good choice to which char to recruit without knowing what to expect and which of the characters to recruit... so impossible if you do want to avoid spoilers. Just pick any of the other 2 and leave sacred coil one for 2nd or 3rd. Yes it was far more difficult than the game's last mission.

With that said. For $10 it felt worth for sure. In general I had a great time with the game and the production value was great considering the pre purchase discount that the game was $10.

Issues I had with the game outside of some bugs here and there.
-The voice acting was great BUT when will Hollywood/video game devs learn this is not how people constantly interact with each other, it got tired after 15 mins, sadly the sassy clap backs/jokes won't stop. This isn't a Saturday morning cartoon and as a POC it is tiresome to portray POC/hip/cool people like this all the time especially consider how the world of x-com is and what they have been through. This is not how I interact with friends or co workers at all. It's not the norm. I strongly feel for the aliens voices they could have use some distortion effects to make it fit more, they sounds too regular and it doesn't fit all that well. But again this is not taking down the voice acting, the voice acting is great for what they set to do, it's the lines and for non humans they sound too regular or too human.

Blending of 2 different art styles. While not a deal breaker but having some of that nice 3D models and used to the way the story unfolds in previous games I had to get used to the 2 art styles. On their own they are great, but mixing them together seems like it didn't really fit that well. Still though have to give credit to the story is told really well.

-Not a fan of only 4 characters team tho. That one can go and never return.

Breach system, really interesting mechanics. Felt great most of the time but once you get geared it really becomes overpower and you can pretty much turn the tide of the battle during breach from mid game to end game. This is the first iteration and it has potential for sure. Not sure I would like to see it for Xcom main game. As I said once geared it really always tip the battle into your favor no matter what.

Game difficult balance, it wasn't bad but sometimes it felt wonky or all over the place. Sacred Coil last mission was insane, especially if you pick it up as the first to investigate you get there and you barely don't have much of gears/equipment yet and the mission is very intense. Then once you get certain gear/set up the game in general kinda becomes easy.

If you have the XCOM itch and feel like trying an offshoot fresh take and you see the game at $10-15 I would recommend it for sure. I don't mind if they can do more improvement and keep expanding on the Chimera Squad.

I would rate it 4 Stars out of 5 if you are new to Xcom games as a recommendation.
3 out of 5 stars if you have played previous Xcom games as a recommendation.

For free to play you can get a lot of juice out of it. The shooting feels great and by now (year 3) there is a lot of content for you to play and enjoy. There is still more content if you are willing to toss money at Bungie.

Great with friends for sure but a lot can easily be done as solo or with match making.

Disclaimer: I bought this game on steam, I did not contribute with funding on Kickstarter (KS).

What a game. With how risk and wild KS landscape is I had no expectation at all when I pick up the game. I did want it to succeed of course. And no regrets here. It delivers and beyond.

At the moment of writing this review I am very close to 100% it, just missing 1 main achievement to get them all. The game had me hooked since the day I started to play it and everything feels great. The atmosphere, the fluid movements, the music, the stages are so nicely design. Story isn't anything mind blowing but it does the job to keep the game going.

I had no encounter with game breaking bug(s). One bug that followed me around and I wouldn't mind seeing it getting fix it sometimes when an enemy drops a loot bag in a weird spot it might take a few seconds for the character to pick it up. When loot
was important it kinda slowed up the momentum when doing focused farming on specific mobs. One small let down for me was the whip wpn, I wish the whip mechanic felt better, the animation is fine just even with jump cancel attack it still felt off/input delay somehow. Really weird to explain but it just feels like they could have done a better job with the whips in this game, especially since well IGA is involve with this :^))

This for me is one of the rare good KS stories with a good ending. I definitely would recommend this game, especially if you come from the Castlevania games and is a big fan of them and is still sitting on the fence for this one.

So far so good. Finally manage to get back into it and I am enjoying the ride. Lots of content added and the grind just starts after you finish the story mode. Uncanny great game to play with your friends, Don't sleep on the multi player form. It feels satisfying that everytime you play once you pick it up, you feel the progression of you getting better, the game builds it up well on the challenge and rewards you great for getting it done.

Would recommend to anyone that likes pve grinding games.

Be aware you need above decent p.c to handle the game at its beauty.

Everyone got a few games that will always have a soft spot in their heart. Rez is one of them for me. Since the Dreamcast i've played this bought the PS2 version and now (pleasantly surprised) the p.c version with some extra bonus.

The good stuff. If you are looking for something different for a change. Give one of Sega's finest of the old days a chance.
