Praise the sun!
:praisesun:

We are the pirates who don't do anything
We just stay at home and lie around
And if you ask us to do anything
We'll just tell you we don't do anything

No cost too great.
No mind to think.
No will to break.
No voice to cry suffering.
Born of God and Void.
You shall seal the blinding light that plagues their dreams.
You are the Vessel.
You are the Hollow Knight.
:hollowknight:

"In wilds beyond they speak your name with reverence and regret,
For none could tame our savage souls yet you the challenge met,
Under palest watch, you taught, we changed, base instincts were redeemed,
A world you gave to bug and beast as they had never dreamed.

Our cherished dreams you granted and delivered more,
But in dismay you found too late our desires had no end,
What cost to tame our savagery? You gave your all and then gave more.
Yet still desires lay unquenched, more dreams remained, your energies spent.

Amongst it sprang a dreadful scourge,
That forced return our aggressive urge,
And turned us back to beast or husks,
Our souls by light above.

Within your corpse can still be heard the plaintiff cries of one,
Who took our pain, and loses and dreams inside itself to...
Through its pain we found a truth that must now be confessed,
For nothing can contain such things but perfect emptiness."

My thoughts on the remaster have changed over the years significantly. I thought that the remaster was nice; I could play the game in 60fps and the multiplayer was much easier to access when playing with friends. The bonfire in the catacombs was a nice addition, and being able to use multiples of an item at once is great. But that was about all that got changed. There was no omni-directional rolling (which this game desperately needs). Backstabs are still as broken and busted as they always were, and for essentially just putting DSFix onto the game, I felt angry that not only did the games price double, but they took Prepare to Die off the store. I wanted more out of this remaster if they were going to price it so high, and I still wish we got more out of it. But this is still the definitive version of the game. Do I wish the remaster was handled better? Yes, but that doesnt take away from the fact that, out of all versions of this game ever released, this is the definitive way to play Dark Souls. I think you should pick it up on sale, because I really dislike the $40 price tag put onto this remaster, when they did NOT change nearly enough to warrant a change so drastic, but I really do think that everyone should try this game. Dark Souls is my absolute favorite game of all time. Full stop. It always has and always will. It has fundamentally shaped who I am as a person today. I think that, despite all its flaws, the first Dark Souls game is a masterpiece, and I completely recommend it. I still have my issues with the remaster, but for new players, or even returning players, I truly do feel that this is the definitive version of this game. If you are on the fence because Dark Souls is known as "the hard game", don't worry. I really do think that anyone of any skill level can play and beat Dark Souls.

This has been a 3 year journey, full of grand achievements, a laggy nightmare, angry moments, and most importantly bonding through Ibb & Obb.

As stated previously, this was a three year journey to completion. You may be asking yourself, "How do you take 3 years to beat Ibb & Obb?" And the answer is my friend was really laggy. Now this isn't a huge problem; we beat it, but this game doesn't just lag when it lags; it ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ breaks. During the entire playthrough, my friend would be killed by enemies that weren't on my screen or his, cause the game spawned enemies in for him but not for me. There was also a bug where he had double the enemies on screen. I have never experienced a game that, when you lag out, bugs the game so hard that it just breaks. Truly a masterpiece and a fantastic work of art.

Ibb & Obb is a co-op based puzzle game, and the puzzles range from easy to grasp to impossible to understand without watching an Ibb & Obb speedrun; there is no in between. (If you speedrun Ibb & Obb, you have my eternal respect). The game sets up it's rules clearly, and yet it doesn't lay out it's puzzles in a way that is easy to understand. Sometimes it's user error and we were just kinda dumb, however multiple times the puzzles were just really hard to understand even after trying to do it for like 20 mins.

All these factors culminate into a game that can very quickly make you lose your patience. I can not tell you how many times my friend has lost his ♥♥♥♥ playing Ibb & Obb, or we would get stuck on a puzzle and we could both tell that we were close to snapping at each other, so we would close the game and go do something else.

That's not to say I hated the game or thought it was an awful experience; far from it actually. The game has many puzzles that involve enemies, juking out said enemies, and killing them and collecting the money is rewarding. The game also has a momentum gimmick that, once you understand it, is pretty fun to mess around with, and many of the new things they add at the end of the game are fun new additions to the gameplay loop that I wish they added earlier, since they're only in the game for a level or two. The game is also really cute, and Ibb & Obb, despite making me incredibly angry playing the game, make me happy when I see them. And while the game is definitely not one of my favourite games I've ever played, it has been a surreal experience to be able to play Ibb & Obb with my friend over the course of three years.

There will never be a game like Ibb & Obb to grace this earth again, and I think that's a good thing. We do not need another Ibb & Obb; one is enough, and I think this captures the spirit of Ibb & Obb better than any clone ever will. All the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ lag issues, the more than occasional infuriating puzzle, the charming art style; nothing compares to the masterpiece that is Ibb & Obb.

Do not buy this game if you are lonely. If you have a friend, however, this is by far the most important purchase of your entire life, without question.
