TLDR: Content good, story bad

The new zones, dungeons, trials, two new classes and duties are all very enjoyable. But what really divides people is the story, some say the lvl 90-95 portion is very boring, some say the lvl 95-100 drops the ball. I'm in the former, while I started to enjoy it more later on it was still a very unremarkable story.

The main problem is the writers exchange your established companions to refocus onto two, in my opinion, unlikeable ones - Wuk Lamat and Erenville. While Erenville was present as a decent side character in Endwalker, he's been turned into an insufferable main character here. Wuk Lamat - a boring, tiring new character whos entire personality boils down to naive goody goody heir to the throne, where the game forces you to be her cheerleader throughout, even so far as to force you into dialogue options as if you are best buddies. It's not earnt at all. Not to mention the English VA is not the greatest performance when compared to the others. The only slim saving grace is we get to know about Krile more.

The other issue I found is from levels 90-95, there is no actual antagonist. You're stuck trying to win the "Rite of Succession" for Wuk Lamat, which involves going around learning about the different sub-cultures of the new land. While great for world building, it is a chore and a bore for people waiting for something to happen. Only halfway through do you get an actual threat to rally and combat against in the story.

I can't recommend this as story is a big part of FFXIV and why people play it.

Never have I seen a game with such unenthusiastic design from a once beloved developer than Starfield. I honestly thought these "Meh" tier games from triple A studios died off during the late 360/PS3 era.

I may have 97.8 hours in this game but rest assured over 30% of that would have been just getting it to work on launch but of course it is the consumers fault as Todd Howard put it "Upgrade your PC" for a mid 2010s looking game, as I sat there with a top range machine struggling for it to run. Thankfully with DLSS now it has solved this issue, even though it took Bethesda months to add when modders implemented it in days.

The game itself, the two sole decent things in it are the base building and ship building, everything else just feels so uninspirated.

The Main story is that interesting that I didn't even feel the need to finish it, I thought the game would pull me back in after a weeks break but sadly not, there are some better than average side quests but nothing to write home about.

The Companions; if you can even call them that, are some of the most blandly written characters in an RPG, lack of diverse morality so you're stuck with a crew of goody too shoes that constantly complain about you doing basic mechanics the developers design for you to do (example - picking up too much loot or materials for base building).

The Gun play; copy pasted Fallout 4, I don't hate it but it's a bit bullet spongey for a grounded sci fi setting.

Do not waste your money on this corporate mandated bullet point created mess, play The Outer Worlds instead, it has problems but at least it's writing is engaging and fun.

Bought at launch, it was horrendous. However with current patches performance is much improved for me anyhow (Ryzen 7 5800x3d, rtx 4080). Ray Tracing is still pretty jank though, I had to keep that off but managed to keep a constant 60fps at 4k

Story is very enjoyable, and if you liked the first game, the gameplay is pretty much the same with some new toys to play with

Half baked VR Port, even with extensive modding doesn't bring it up to decent VR combat or interactivity standards
