I've very much enjoyed playing Train Simulator since 2012, this game is fun, lots to do, I've very much enjoyed doing the route building, got a few IOW lines on the workshop, the physics are not great but they still work, if you want adavanced and more details trains and routes, I suggest you check out Armstrong Power House (I'm not affilated with them in anyway). The graphics compared todays standards are not perfect but it works, you can download skins and high quality addons for these from anumber of 3rd party places, mostly for free and many of these sites offer freeware so if you can't afford to pay google some of the places and you will be suprised how many freeware routes are - this game as a huge community world wide.

Route building is easy and fun to use, it takes a few days to understand how it all works and can get annoying at time.

A lot of people, most recently have given it negative reviews because they have a top end machine and so do I, 32GB RAM, 1080GTX, i7 6th Quad Core, 2x 500GB SSD, however people fail to remeber is that this engine has got to be around 10 years old, it's a 32 Bit program using probably 2GB to 2.5GB so it can run out of memory and have stutter issues, hence the change to Train Simulator World next year using Unreal Engine 64bit so more access to RAM. Also the cost of DLC, I'm from the UK and only ever purchased stuff from my country (unless bundled with the annual TS20XX upgrade), I don't have much taste for the European, Asian or USA train, so buy what YOU want to buy, no one is forcing you spend thousands on DLC.
