A Hat in Time is the best 3d platformer available on PC.
After years of being in a slump I wasn't even aware I was in, playing repetitive, uninspired games like mobas, mmos, your fps-of-the-month, etc., A Hat in Time reminded me what it's like to have fun playing a video game. I felt real childlike happiness playing through this game the first time through. And while you can never play a game for the first time again, I still thoroughly enjoyed myself for quite a while playing with its fantastic community. It reshaped my thought process on what makes a game worth my time. Unfortunately, the fledgling game company has lost its innocence quite quickly, having made a series of sketchy decisions over the lifespan of this game that has stained its reputation.

DLCs
Seal the Deal has mixed reviews, and it absolutely deserves it. It felt like it wasn't even made by the same developers. The fun was constantly disrupted by the frustrating difficulty, and it was the sort of difficulty that doesn't make you feel like you're making any progress after your umpteenth attempt. I advise anyone who isn't naturally a god at the game to immediately use peace and tranquility to make death wish easier. I know, your instinct says "I don't wanna use easy mode, I wanna beat the bonus objectives", but it's just not worth it. You may be able to get a few missions done that way fairly reasonably, but it only gets harder and you're not going to 100% it without sinking an absurd amount of time into it.

In Nyakuza Metro the Gears for Breakfast we knew and loved are back. It's all here, the charm, innovation, creativity, clear understanding of what makes platforming fun, they're all back and better than ever. The metro is so comprehensive and well made, and the online is a glorious addition. Admittedly there's not too much to do with the online at the surface level, but mods are getting added all the time that add online content. Good times all around.
