Its a off-brand Ace Combat kind of flight sim with one HUGE upside...

This accepts HOTAS inputs natively.

Huge W, if you are the owner of a HOTAS setup for this reason alone its worth picking up.

I recommend Path of Exile 2, but it does come with a myriad of issues that will cripple the game long-term and burn out many, many players.

PoE2 is a decent overhaul of PoE1's overall systems making alot of streamlining in the way of:
- Certain itemization mechanics such as the process of finding and creating upgrades
- The Passive skill tree
- The skill gem system

Just to list some of the major examples. Fundamentally, the active movement and emphasis on understanding attack patterns of bosses has felt great, making for a more dynamic moment-to-moment gameplay experience. This movement emphasis is then also giving everyone a dodge roll that feels good to use. The "bones" of this game is fantastic, and easily topples in its unfinished and unpolished state the likes of its AAA counterpart, D4 (although D4's story was very solid to me)

HOWEVER, it is not without issues. I will list a few large areas that detract from an otherwise great experience:
- Melee classes suffer immensely in damage scaling that is balanced around one-shot hits
- The ascension system for your advanced class is frustrating, tedious, and unfun with very few good ideas
- Balance between classes are a joke
- Defensive options are few and far in between limiting later-game playstyles
- Early campaign balance in Act 1 is rough
- The endgame aka Maps are some of the most heavy-handed sets of punishment systems I have seen in gaming the last two decades
- While the dodge roll is nice, the game feels a bit too reliant upon this mechanic at endgame and certain boss fights

GGG I am sure will address some of these concerns, however endgame I fear for the most given that the dedicated fanbase is arguably the worst part about the entire game, people with egos that dwarf the largest titans and you are without your Omni-directional mobility gear.

Post review note: I am presently in my mid-late 80's doing T14-15 maps for my experience as a ranged class for my experience.

Fun little indie game. If you liked FTL you'll definitely like this. A bit less micro heavy since there's no movement of crew inside of your ship compared to FTL, unless you run a strike craft heavy setup which is a plus to me.

TFD is your horde looter shooter in 3rd person similar to Warframe with systems that are very similar to Destiny with Warframe's modding system more or less. While expensive the monetization is far from P2W and the only things that are paywalled right now are cosmetics, slots for inventory, and experience/currency boosters.

Overall, the game's content while a bit repetitive is robust with a decent selection of characters along with many weapons (although a huge portion of these feel same-y) to play and is in a decent state.

The largest and most important point is thus far, the developers have been extremely communicative and make very positive changes in regards to player feedback. So far so good, Nexon. We'll see if you guys can allow this game to keep up.

8/10, would recommend if you enjoy looter shooters and need an alternative to Warframe or Destiny.

Side note: Since this is an Korean (Reads: non-Western) this game is not made for a "modern audience", so characters aren't made to be ugly for any virtue signaling to appeal to DEI. This alone deserves an honorable mention and to try it.

Paid mods, more Bethesda club greed effectively.

That aside, Starfield has been generally a pretty 5/10 at best experience. It feels empty, with an underlying game system for maps that is filled to the brim in loading screens combined with mostly copy pasta environments that are nowhere near as interesting to explore as the likes of Fallout let alone the Elder Scrolls games.

Bethesda, like most Western game developers are creatively bankrupt at this stage.

8/7/24 Update: Final update review from me, the game has lost over 90% of its playerbase and despite "listening" to the community the game continues to stay unlisted for the 170+ countries with the initial sony debacle, so everyone who was singing praises you all got played. FURTHERMORE... The newest nerfs on flame weapons on top of selling a fire-based warbond seems very dirty. Even if you ignore those two things, the game still has a real problem churning out new, interesting content period.

In the end, I got my money's worth of about 200 hours of gameplay. For a budget title, it was certainly worth it if you enjoy this kind of game and have friends who will play it with you. It could have been so much more, so it will stay downvoted from me. 8.5/10 at launch, 6/10 from me now.

5/6/24: Sony has bent the knee to the community and the PSN requirement is now dropped, however two facts still remain: The balancing rationale and how its treated generally is extremely poor using the exact same methods as World of Warships, a game that is already renowned for its poor balance by its skilled playerbase. The second is the community managers' bloodlust and hatred for its own community under the censorship and toxic progressive political values which CMs across all western gaming almost universally experience. The latest incident has shown their true colors once more, receipts are all over Twitter.

Until at least the former is changed (balance), this review will remain negative.

Additional note 5/4/24: HD2 is also requiring the linking of steam accounts to a PSN account well after launch, and this also will lock out players who come from regions where PSN service isn't available. This is not a good look.

The game at its core is good, but developer team clearly has no clue on how to properly balance the game. They are more concerned with something standing out and being powerful than making the game more fun, and making more options viable at high difficulty. That being said, the downvote here has nothing to do with that and just like my locked thread over this, I will post it here:

I was banned permanently from the Helldivers 2 discord because an openly LGBT moderator most likely (can't say 100% for sure, but they were posting and active as I made my comment plus people who identify this way usually are extremely pro censorship, they are called "purplegion") decided to be offended at my questioning of why should the LGBT community get a cape when no other groups get one. Not even a minute later, I was banned. No warning, no explanation. If simply asking a question about such a obvious bit of preferential treatment is considered "Hate speech" (still waiting on a clearly defined definition but we all know why there isn't one) then frankly people should be made aware of the left-leaning political bias and poor treatment of people within their studio and moderation team.

In a game that talks so much about "democracy", I find this ironic. What's even more ironic is that this is based off of Starship Troopers, a satire that mocks the fascistic nature of the right wing so kinda funny you want your ideology represented in this fantasy regime in the game.

All I can say is, either be FAIR to everyone and let what they are AND believe in be represented on both the left AND right of politics, or let NOBODY get these things. Better yet? KEEP POLITICS AND AGENDAS OUT OF VIDEO GAMES THANKS.

I haven't experienced much of the issues the reviews have been talking about, and the gameplay is good. Either I've been lucky or they've improved upon the server issues. Matches I have seen late at night are hard to find though.

I suggest giving it a shot if you're just curious at least.

The has been enjoyable, but it definitely is fairly buggy at times. Expect it to be rough around the edges but if you want a game to replace the Cycle (aka casual sci-fi Tarkov) then give it a shot.
