Game runs well now. Seems like they optimized it and/or allowed frame gen on lower tier gpus. Runs well on my 3070. This is definitely the most approachable MH. I tried previous ones and was overwhelmed by the JRPG'ness of it all. I'm enjoying my time in the game a lot more than before so am happy to recommend this one.

Played through several times on gamepass. They are removing it right before the DLC, Overature, comes out. So I bought it on Steam on sale. 100% worth it. As others have said, this is most likely the best souls-like not made by FromSoft. I wouldn't include games like Black Myth or the coming Phantom Blade 0 as a souls-like. They are more like God of War and action/adventure. Great storytelling and world-building with some innovative mechanics that make this game very replayable.

Really enjoyable entry to the genre. Just shut the music off and play your own because it's mind-numbingly repetitive.

In a genre that's quickly getting saturated it's hard to stand out. For whatever reason, Icarus does for me.

No problems signing into PSN. Made an account long ago to play Bloodborne streaming via Playstation Now. I somehow managed to avoid any spoilers this whole time, and now that it's on PC I can finally enjoy this masterpiece.

EDIT: The lock-on with mouse and keyboard is a complete mess, man. It flips around like crazy between multiple enemies. Thankfully it's mostly a non-issue during boss fights, and have gotten used to not using it fighting smaller mobs, but one shouldn't have to if it were working properly. Still, not enough to make me not recommend it.

All said and done, this game is definitely worth your time if you're a 40k fan. If you're just a fan of gritty, weighty, punchy, gore-fest action games, this will also be a good time for you.

I remember playing with my battle bro when it 1st dropped and I was yelling all the time. He's like, "Why are you so mad?" To which I replied, "Because I SUCK!" Once you get the mechanics of the game it become way more enjoyable.
