I'm brand new to the Anno franchise, but this has been a very enjoyable introduction. The graphics are amazing with beautiful countryside and ocean graphics; it's truly a beautifully detailed game. My only criticism thus far is that the tutorial (with the most guidance) still leaves many questions for me and I did not understand how to utilize all of the UI or understand exactly how to keep things balanced and my people happiest. I lucked out and managed to have happy people with needs met, but was only balanced with money for a brief period. Then I had a surplus of lumber I didn't know what to do with right away and fumbled around with the trade routes to try and compensate. I've watched a video by Dr. Incompetent with more in depth explanation, and that helped immensely so I plan on starting over with what I have learned. With only four hours into my first run, I'm not going to feel sick about starting over. I recommend watching the video before diving in to avoid some foundational mistakes.

If you enjoy city builders, resource management, and diplomacy this is a great prospect for you!

Travellers Rest is definitely worth checking out if you enjoy titles like Harvest Moon, Simple Life, and Stardew Valley. Mix it in with an inn keeping sim and you have a laid back but engaging game. It's a work in progress with a few little glitchy things like your person infrequently facing the wrong direction when they clean a table, but I have yet to encounter a game-crasher. I've only played ten hours so far, but I'm loving it, and y'all might too.
