It's not the worst but it's not the best title in the Battlefield series.
Like Battlefield Hardline, Battlefield 2042 is a secondary title, a "UFO".

Positive points:

The gunplay is good.
The map environments are different from what we're used to seeing everywhere else.
The reward system is basic but really efficient.
The matchmaking is "okay" provided you find clean games where there are no cheaters (good luck for getting that lol).

Negative points:

The optimization, even reworked over time, isn't really good. It's not very smooth and sometimes micro-latencies can occur.
The game quickly becomes frustrating and repetitive. There are lot of game modes but nothing adapts to what you select. You can play five different modes and the system, difficulty, and rewards are exactly the same... :/

I'm giving a positive review but it's without much desire tbh.

It's my second experience with a Battlefield game, and this time, Battlefield 4 leaves me a little doubtful tbh...

Positive points:

High quality story mode. The immersion is excellent and we are quickly drawn into the gameplay. There are no real "rest" phases. The action is constant even if you aren't in combat. On this point, stay rassured, everything is perfectly balanced and well executed.

Narrative is well executed too. Within the context of the universe in which we are immersed, it helps emphasize the gravity of the situation and brings a emotional side to the gameplay.

The combat phases are beautiful. Their execution is very surprising in its quality and we find ourselves in operations and territories perfectly suited for this. The weapons are perfectly balanced and some of them can greatly help those who struggle with shooting.

Negative points:

Graphics are dated. The game was released a little over 10 years ago, in 2013, and this is particularly noticeable at several points during the progress. They're not bad at all but the overall experience is not really positive.

Optimization isn't the best. You can encounter lot of completely stupid bugs (especially at the beginning) that can force you to force restart the game and/or restart the entire mission you started.

The AI is completely absurd, honestly. They serve no purpose and are only a supporting role yet. They won't help you in any way during strategic and action phases. They shoot, but it doesn't damage the enemy even if they're only 10 centimeters away from them. And conversely, they don't take any damage from the enemy either. That's a good team work experience, right? *facepalm*

Furthermore, they don't follow you directly. Many times, you'll have to force their engagement for them to finally deign to come towards you, otherwise you'll have to wait several seconds or even restart the game to be able to continue your mission.

I can hardly recommend Battlefield 4, and it make me a little bit sad, because the story mode is so good... But the technical flaws leave a bitter taste unfortunately.

This is my first Battlefield game and my first experience with Battlefield 1 was very cool.

Gameplay aspects:

The story mode is captivating and very immersive. You can feel the special care taken by the developers to follow as closely as possible to realism. Pay close attention to the various actions taken during your game which can potentially have a more or less significant impact on your progress depending on the chapter/war story you're in.

The narration isn't excellent, but it's far from bad, it contributes to the coherence of the gameplay and provides significant content.

Technical aspects:

The graphics seems a little dated, considering the game was released 10 years ago, but this is still acceptable in 2025.

The optimization is good. There may be micro-latencies during certain animations, but otherwise, the game should run smoothly on almost all current configurations.

I highly recommend it!

We'll keep it simple...

Positive points:

- The complexity of the puzzles remains identical to the first version of Talos Principle released 10 years ago now.
- The graphics have been revised and are more pleasant.
- The optimization is not perfect in the current state, but it remains perfectly playable, even for small configurations.

Negative points:

- The level editor, which is the biggest new feature, can sometimes be unstable at times and cause the game to crash for no apparent reason.
- For this same level editor, it is overall very well finished and many options are available. However, it requires improvement, particularly for certain “technical” details used in the design.

8/10.
I recommend this and i can't wait for the release version.

Spelunky 2 is a very nice game. He is very challenging and demanding, just like in the first episode. The keymapping was handled very well and the controller experience is truly excellent. The only downside in my opinion that has no impact on the game itself is that there is no future of the series planned. Spelunky 3 certainly won't see the light of day and that's a bit frustrating.

Anyway, thanks to the developer for all these moments of entertainment despite everything... <3

Early Access Review
[ - States update after 3 years - ]

Map : The map has expanded with the creation of new lines with really interesting routes and scenery. The immersion is further increased and new features was planned for the future. For the best example of this, drive on line 142, which in my opinion is the best worked line currently.

Bus models : All problems have been - practically - patched. The Scania Citywide currently still encounters some problems (particularly concerning acceleration and braking which are not really realistic).

Features : The only real new thing is the integration of Lumen which accentuates realism and the Multiplayer mode - available in Alpha version at the time this review is published - which is quite promising for the future and which promises great things for AI buses.

Performance : A lot of optimization issues have been fixed but unfortunately there are some leftovers. For lower configurations, unlike 3 years ago, the game has really become playable but to ensure some peace of mind, unfortunately you will be forced to desactivate or significantly reduce certain graphics settings…

Current review : The price of “The Bus” becomes more understandable over the time. There are still some gaps, and the fact that the developers are working on several projects at the same time greatly slows down development, but as this actual state, it's really promising and this simulator is becoming truly respectable now.

(Little advice : If you want to personalize your experience, don't hesitate to take a look at the Workshop).
