As an avid fan of tactical shooters, this open world approach, complete with a helicopter transport system, is a dynamic leap forward from competitors like "Escape from Tarkov." Using Unreal Engine 5 boosts visual and performance quality significantly, marking an upgrade from the Unity engine used in similar games.

Despite its potential, the game faces typical early access challenges such as server stability. Lag usually suggests a server switch, a manageable inconvenience given the developers' commitment to quick hotfixes, which are continually improving the game's stability.

An important tip for performance: switching from DLSS to FSR can dramatically increase FPS, often doubling it. This change is highly recommended for anyone looking to optimize their gameplay experience.

The map design, however, is a bit disappointing. The beginner areas are merely rotated or mirrored versions of the same cities, which detracts from the exploratory feel and could benefit from more creativity. Additionally, the current lack of smaller vehicles and the persistent issue of players camping at helicopter landing sites to ambush newcomers are areas needing urgent attention from the developers.

Another serious issue is the lack of penalties for teamkilling. Currently, there's no system in place to punish players who kill teammates, which can lead to distrust and hostility within teams. This is a significant oversight that needs to be addressed quickly to improve the cooperative gameplay experience.

The demands on hardware are considerable; high settings can cause crashes, while medium settings provide a stable experience. This underscores the need for a robust PC, particularly regarding GPU and CPU capabilities.

Those with minimal system requirements should consider waiting before purchasing, as running the game on low-end setups does not deliver an optimal experience and could prompt premature negative reviews.

In conclusion, this game has the potential to stand out in the tactical shooter genre if the current pace of development and bug fixes is maintained. I'm giving it a thumbs up for now, but will reconsider my review should the development team fail to meet ongoing expectations.

The game is an assetflip. The map, the inventory system and also the survival system are just packages they bought from the unreal marketplace. The devs clearly not worked 5 years on this. The current „version“ is just something they can show and say „see it is real and we didn’t lied“. They have no knowledge even they not managed it to rename the game folder that gets created in the appdata to their game name instead it has its standard name „unreal engine“ which will collide with other games that will have the default name.

Devs seem to getting here also out of touch with the players and their feedback. They give out "streamer skins" which you can nearly not optain als normal player that give advantage. Also they put the "clan creation" on prestige 1 which takes an average player that is able to make 1000 points a minute ( as reference 1 kill brings about 200) about 335 hours of playtime to be able to create a clan. I mean what the dev team is smoking to do such ♥♥♥♥♥♥ decisions currently? So i have to change my review to negative until there are some changes.

Original Review: They did with less than 5 man what EA could not with hundrets of people and millions of budget. It shows content first, visuals last and also stay in touch with your community and not just assume what they want, just ask them. No SMBB, no micro transactions, no pay to win, just pure fun gameplay. Feels a bit like good old BF3 days.

Long story, short answer. This is not battlefield anymore as we know it. Its a failed try to pickup the hype about battleroyale games. After they realized it they switched to a more "classic" battlefield experience. But that means we have everywhere downgrades like in graphics, dynamics, gameplay and many other topics. Don't buy it, don't support dice. If you want to support the original heads behind the good Battlefield parts, follow "Embark Studios" that's the company where all good DICE employees went after DICE only operates for shareholder now.
