As enjoyable as the first so far and in areas much improved. Runs OK in most cases but there are definitely some areas where fps takes a big hit that could use some adjustments through patches. The MTX are in poor taste (skip type stuff since earnable in-game) for a $70 game, but if you've played another Capcom game in the past decade then you should not be surprised. Hell MHW locked anything beyond hair and makeup behind a paywall but here it uses RC which who even spends this for pawns since ones in your level range are free.

Probably going to end up the best game in the genre if the current state of EA is any indication. Pulls in all the right bits of Halls of Torment, Hades, and 20 Minutes till Dawn and blends them into a slick AF amalgam.

Could use some additional stages and the item management between characters is little cumbersome, but its early days so time to sort that out.

Got this in the Oct '23 Humble and I love it. great sound track and solid shooting. Also small bit of customization on loadouts to keep changing it up and dial it in for prefs. If anything I wish there was more as it's not too long and wish there were more levels to dunk demons in. Lots of lovely touches of polish like the animation when quitting to desktop |m|/ and the bestiary anims of hopping on/off the platform. Solid.

Its a Bethesda game, good exploration, tons of freedom and sandbox play, plus modding. Its a Bethesda game, doesn't run great, goofy animations, looks about a gen behind, and other janky mishaps. Its what I expect from the studio and it delivers so far.

However, this would be the first time playing their games I cannot circumvent bugs with the console. As per normal I've run into a bug, my ship disappeared mostly (few odds and ends just floating there) but got it back with interacting with the shipbuilder. The bug however started 20 hrs earlier with switching home ship when docked at a station and now chunks of New Atlantis are missing as well as some major quest line NPCs.

Wait for patches both official and unofficial before wasting time here. You also may be waiting a LONG time for this as well since they aren't fixing things at a reasonable rate and then when you do get a patch it's missing so many critical fixes. 2 months and the ship disappearing bug still there, Atlantis disappearing still there, kiosks gone in your game then oh well. FFS. If I could give this a second thumb down I would and I wish I could refund.

Few more patches and of course paid mods shoehorned in, but the bugs that halted my progress are baked into the file maybe since they are still there upon load or were never actually addressed. Who knows. So still missing sections of ground in New Atlantis, kiosks still missing, etc. While it was OK until I ran into the issues its not enjoyable enough of a game to me worth starting over for in it current state. I suspect anything worth playing if it remedies some of the problems the game does outside of the encountered bugs have will be paywalled.

There is an hint of a good game here somewhere that I'd like to enjoy. It just runs unbelievably bad and has a few bugs that are pretty bad to the experience like the auto skipping of cutscenes. Will update if the upcoming patch addresses the performance.

Setting to 1080 gets a very shakey FPS around 60 but still having drops into the low 40s with poor frame pacing. Playing online drops FPS by like an additional 10.

2/21 1.03 Patch Update:
This patch was to have the fix for "certain high-end CPUs were being unintentionally capped" and it did nothing on my end. All it did was drop the default resolution from 1440 to 1080, but I had to already drop it there to even get to 60 (which it can't even hold). Anyways no change and still runs poorly.

Also ran into the audio bug still. All audio cut out except a few ambient objects.

Its been really enjoyable for the most part. Not as good as Odyssey for me personally, however I've experienced a number of crashes which continue to get more frequent over time. I've run through the suggestions (most associated to their launcher funnily enough) and nothing has worked. There has been tons of threads and one with some Ubi's CS posting but its been over a month now with nothing.

I'm not surprised, this is an older game now with no dev team left on it for any real support (prob an engineer to get the build created for steam and someone from the business/marketing side to populate the pages for a week or 2) and was dumped here to try and pull it some last minute cash given their poor fiscal results. My guess is from their telemetry its a small enough pool they won't touch it as I'm sure it was present in the Epic and Connect builds as well.

While I appreciate the time I guess for the response I'm equally as frustrated since Its just a boiler plate response. I mention a couple of the steps loosely here and if they looked up my posts they would have seen I tried most of their "steps" some of which won't even help. I also had uploaded saves and additional files through their ticketing system 2+ weeks ago.

UPDATE 2/20
Ticket was originally submitted on 1/11 and here we are approaching 1.5 months later and nothing. I mean at least it hasn't been closed, but yeah nothing ever going to happen with this. Enjoy my money from this purchase its the last you'll ever see Ubi.

These SoBs updated the ticket w/o sending a mail notification as if anyone is going to check on these things regularly in their system. Since there was not a response for 4 days they closed it 'guess everythings all good'. GET BENT UBISOFT.

Was an OK game but not as good as OG Bioshock. However they added in a garbage launcher calling it a QOL update, and now feel the need to update it through steam and not the launcher. Good job guys.

Was an Ok game, not as good as the previous but definitely enjoyable. Now however after their "free upgrade" its a broken pile of garbage that breaks mods (workshop and other), screws up cloud saves, crashes all over, and best of all adds an additional launcher. GTFO here with this. Wasn't the reboot enough damage to the series? Do we now have to go back to the old games and drag them down in quality and convenience.
