I had been watching this game for a long time before it was released and I have to say that I'm happy with it so far. I don't often get to play games with my wife but this was perfect. A heartbreaking, thought provoking story that had us on the edge of our seats the whole time. We spent hours afterwards discussing theories of what would happen next and what we thought of the individual characters.

True, the length of the game could've been longer, but we had been warned beforehand.

It's also nice to see Campo Santo trying something new in games with 'developing your pictures'. Early in the game you find a disposable camera with about 18 shots still left on it, you are encouraged to take photos of the areas you visit and things you like the look of. After the game has finished you are then given a link that allows you print out your pictures with some of the extra/original photos as well. This is great idea that combines the real world with the fictional. Clever.

Positives:
  • - Great graphics!
  • - Beautiful world (albeit a little small after a while)
  • - Well written script and character interactions
  • - Works well as a joint game to play with a "non-gamer"

Negatives:
  • - A little short (but still longer than a film and cheaper than 2 tickets!)
  • - Repetative actions and animations (climb, climb and climb again)

Overall a great game with a lovely story. Definitely play it, but if you're unsure then wait for the sales... just watch out for spoilers!
