Darkest dungeon is a really atmospheric game rich in Lovecraftian lore. The best thing I like about this game might be the deep/ thought-provoking quotes and the excellent narration by the narrator, Wayne June. You can see the trailers of the game and the DLCs to get an idea of his menacing voice acting and his way with the words :). This clubbed with the nice art style, the deep lore and the challenging gameplay makes this game a masterpiece.

I would recommend you to choose the “Radiant” difficulty setting for the first playthrough. You may also disable the DLCs for the first playthrough as the DLCs add areas/enemies which can be pretty challenging for beginners.
