An Engaging, Rewarding, and Cinematic Journey

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a breathtaking experience from start to finish. What makes it truly stand out is the perfect fusion of storytelling and gameplay. The narrative is rich and compelling, pulling you into a mysterious world that balances emotional depth with high-stakes tension. It's a story that keeps you invested, driven by well-developed characters and surprising twists that unfold at just the right pace.

The turn-based combat system is another highlight. It's a system that welcomes newcomers but also challenges those who want to master its mechanics. Skillful play is not only effective it’s thrilling. Hitting those parries after a long fight or especially difficult combo is just rewarding.
It reminds me of paper marios turn-based combat, just better.

If you want to play through it as a power fantasy after putting some effort in it, you can.
If you want to play through it with most fights being a challenge, you can.
It is all up to you, how you want to get through it.

What elevates the experience even further is how the gameplay complements the narrative tone. Every story fight, even most optional fights feel like they matter, and the design choices push you to engage thoughtfully. Whether you're here for the emotional journey or the tactical challenge — or both — Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 delivers a deeply immersive experience that is hard to put down.

Well for now I'm scarred from the story.

It has a lot more to it when you might think at first glance.

There are many secrets to uncover and enough cards, combos and other stuff to make it worthwhile for several hours.

It also has it's share of horror but it's definitely not the main selling point I'd say.

Nevertheless a game I would recommend.

Amazing horror game.
The atmosphere, the story, even the impaired vision make this one of the best horror games I've played.

I wasn't expecting much, but after the first few nights, every night filled me up with joy of what might happen this time.

It's not very long, but if you want to unravel most of the story, it can still take you up to 15 hours.
Fastest ingame time for beating this was 1 day for me, so it can be finished very quickly.

I did not enjoy this.

(Also a lot of achievements are sadly bugged it seems.)

Get your job done how ever you want.
Super serious without being seen and noticed even once or just going in like Rambo killing everything in the process, it's your choice.

No objections, full recommendation.

Well, this game is actually getting better. I can't forgive what happend at launch, but it is playable.
It still doesn't have every feature it promised at launch - and will never have them I believe - but at a good discount you'll probably have around 10-30 hours of fun and discovery.
After that though, it's just a grind for a better ship, weapon and ressources.
Also the achievements, especially 2 of them take just too long, atleast at my spawn points. It would take weeks nonstop playing to get them possibly and I have to admit, I have more important things to do.

The game runs smooth now too, no crashes for around 50 hours and still looks quite good.

This game itself is good.
Probably the best Yu-Gi-Oh type of game there is.
The story is pretty well made, all the key fights are in it and pretty much like how I remember them.
The fights though are very easy. I managed to complete every single duel, story and challenge with a deck I made in the first campaign.
But the achievements are a massive grind probably not worth your time.. (Well, I did them anyways.)

I can suggest it to everyone that liked the anime in the past, even if it is only for the original series.
I wouldn't recommend the multiplayer though, unless you have friends playing with you.

A great game. It is a little bit confusing at the start, but once I found out I should first do the story and not just dive into the multiplayer part of the game, it got a lot easier and comfortable.
The story is good, I have a little bit to complain here and there, but overall I really enjoyed the journey.
Great cast of characters, very diverse and unique.

Gameplay is well made and mostly explains itself.

The game runs smoothly, no lags whatsoever. It sometimes chrashed on me, but I never lost more than 1 or 2 minutes.
I don't regret investing the full price there.

Alright, got to slay some more oni! See you on the battlefield.

-- M-master I need you to do me a favor...
- Sure thing, what is it?
-- Well.. I need you to touch me... right here..
- Uh.. I barely know you. Isn't that a little bit ..crazy?
-- Come on, don't be shy. You won't regret it. I promise.
- If you insist...
...
--Yes right here... More.. More.
...
- Woah, what happened? Where did your clothes go?
-- Thank you master. You freed my true power.
- Naked but stronger huh? Interesting...

A few days later
--- Wow you've conquered the gods... with a bunch of naked girls?
- Yep.

The End.

Fun aside, this game is -okay-.
The story is cute but very predictable, like almost everything else about this game. It doesn't bring anything new to the table.
The AI is pretty stupid most of the time but so is the difficulty curve.
Meaning, you can't just complete this game without thinking and optimizing your deck a hundred times.
This adventure will probably consume more than just a day or two. But still, to be fair I'd recommend buying this on a discount.

If you go with this game, there is no going back. It is by far the best Dark Souls there is. (Almost) Everything they did wrong in Dark Souls 1&2 was made right here.
I'd only wish the multiplayer was more polished, it is a shame, but atleast you can play with a friend or just alone. It is still an exceptional good game.
Even the DLC (Ashes of Ariandel) was really well made. It wasn't too long or too short. It was interesting and fun to explore. I wish for more of this kind of DLC in the future. I'll happily invest the full price for it.
Anyways!
The pros and cons:
+Gameplay (fair and skillbased)
+Graphic
+Replayable
+Story (isn't as convoluted as in the past, but that is not necessarily a bad thing)
+Satisfaction (you'll know what I mean)
+- Multiplayer... it is better than before but hacking is still easy, even though I must admit in all my time in Dark Souls 3 I never saw anybody obviously hacking.
Well, I can't think of anything for the cons part, other than the multiplayer.
Praise the sun.
