As an old Yakuza gamer, I initially hated the idea of a new turn-based combat. I still prefer real time combat now after playing this game, but Y:LaD's take on the RPG system is engaging and fun enough for me to plow through it.

One thing I noticed about the combat system: there's this mechanic where you can click certain button/s to "enhance" your skill attack. Playing 120fps seems to mess with the timings and I can't get to reliably do this gameplay mechanic. Dropping my framerate limit to 60fps fixes it. RGG, please fix.

Storywise, I was kinda bored on the first half, but when characters from previous RGG games intersect with the new ones, man the story picks up quick, fast and hard. The ending was great. The substories and new minigames (like the theater one) are a refreshing touch.

Good game, too bad my man Majima only showed at the end of the game. >:(

Honestly may be the best "all-out war" game out there. Good graphics, gameplay and sound design.

Fantastic sequel to the Judgment lineup and a wonderful spin-off to the Yakuza series. Couple of pacing issues on the storytelling but it's passable.

Hands down the BEST combat system out of all the Yakuza/Judgment games.

No doubt the BIGGEST ASSET on Kaito's behind.

Another great game coming from RGG. Great storyline, though kinda surprised that what seems to be side quests are integrated in the main storyline just to introduce certain mechanics of the game. The body ragdoll feature needs a bit of tweaking. Combat is good, but I was itching for more variations even after getting all the unlockables. Topnotch experience, overall, coming from someone who played the original Yakuza games.

Changing my review to a positive one. I'm luckily part of the very few exception whose game doesn't crash, has stable and high frame rates and no graphical glitches. I do understand that, as of now, this is a privilege of owning a beast setup and not because the game is properly optimized.

The story is subjectively amazing, the graphics (on ultra) is jaw-dropping and the soundtrack is top notch. This is an outstanding game overshadowed by a poor port and probably a hefty price tag. NaughtyDog seems to be fixing things and I hope to god they do.
