When it comes down to it, pointing a mouse at an enemy while holding shift to run and ctrl to crouch is a world away from accurately aiming a 9 pound rifle while carrying 40 pounds of gear and tactically advancing under enemy fire. By this same logic, I tend to find the idea that violent video games are teaching kids how to kill to be incredibly silly.
The other way around is more likely. While the increased hand-eye coordination that gaming brings is probably beneficial to some military skills, the main advantage to video games would be in training. See http://www.forces.gc.ca/site/commun/ml-fe/article-eng.asp?id=6429 for an article about the CF using video games to train soldiers.
