26 Hours played
Arma 3 has been on my list of games to get for a long time, my only disappointment is that I waited so long to get it. This is one of the best games I have played in 2015. I can’t wait for some campaign based DLC.

Pros
  • Amazing graphics. Seriously this is one of the best looking games I have ever played. It looks so real. The detail is amazing.
  • Controls are so much better than Arma 2 controls. It’s a big improvement.
  • The game is very stable, not once did the game crash
  • No bugged missions, at least for me. AI is also much better.
  • Good value for money. The main campaign was 20 hours long for me. That’s not even considering the workshop missions and multiplayer servers.
  • The game is really fun and not very frustrating. Dying just encourages me to try a different strategy.
  • The story and campaign is fun. I love how the last mission can end with you simply dying. Great ending. I of course replayed it.
  • Good save system.

Cons (really more of a constructive criticism dialogue)
  • While the AI is much better, my teammates also seemed much less capable than they were in Arma 2.
  • Too much wildlife. Arma 3 has bunny rabbits everywhere, and unlike real life you can just walk right up to them. Same with snakes. It would have been better to not include them at all.
  • Sometimes the enemy flinch when you hit them is just awkward and dumb looking.
  • The clouds can do this weird shifting motion when you are driving a vehicle fast. Hard to describe but it looks really odd.
  • The story doesn’t feel very realistic, whereas the story in Arma 2 at least felt plausible. Still it is a fun story.
  • For me, there wasn’t enough weapon variety in the main campaign.
  • Waypoint markers can be way too faint. There are some limited options to improve them.
  • Playing night missions is still a drag. I hate looking through that green night vision for an entire mission.
  • I preferred the longer missions in Arma 2.

I saw the reference to Simtower in your Blockhood review this morning. This afternoon I received an email from Kalypso Media announcing a new game called Project Highrise. From the teaser trailer on YouTube, it looks like a remake of Simtower, so I thought I would pass on the information in case you haven't seen it yet. I think there is more info on Steam too, but haven't checked that yet. Take care, Mike.

That Krater game has a problem. The healer heals by targetting a teammate with their gun. But he will not do that on autopilot, you have to micro him. That makes things pretty diffuclt, as the fights are real time. I finally decided I was best off with a team of nothing but the tank character class... then I hit this area where the random encounters destroyed me in seconds, and i realized, I simply was not having fun. The idea for the game is better then the game itself. But it may have been patched since then. Also the voice acting was pretty poor. Would have been a decent game back in 1990 something, but its not any good compared to modern games. Unless they have patched it. If you really want to see, find a youtube video with game play footage, and look for a patch notes somewhere, see if they have fixed it. I allready own it and I wouldn't bother playing it.
