I feel obliged to give this a review now that tekken 8 is almost here.
Its been a good few years with tekken 7, a game that is solely responsible for renewing my love for fighting games.

While its had its fair share of issues over the many years it has always remained my favourite fighting game compared to all the other options out there.

A very relaxing and creative game.
The economy, production, needs and services do not put much pressure on you. In general money is very accessible as well due to the large cash injections you get at each level. This combined with the fact landscaping is totally free allows you to just build basically whatever you want.

If you are not really into creative games where you build for the sake of building something cool, then I cannot recommend this game to you.

While the game in general is pleasant to build in it still has some issues. Working with water is a pain due to the many restrictions on placement. Working with terrain that varies in height also takes some effort for it to not look ugly. The grid that comes off of roads is also often not where you would want it, there are ways to manipulate this but it feels unpolished. And making quays is just downright annoying.

For the future I hope much more methods for decorating and customizing your city are implemented. As of right now most creativity you can do comes from your landscaping, road layout and public transport network. Outside of these things it is hard to make an area look unique from other parts of your city, it all becomes samey pretty quick. I fully expect this to become better with more assets and mods.

Now that immortal empires, the combined sandbox map, has been released it is finally ready to be fully enjoyed.
The combined map is insanely large and the sheer number of races and characters to play is immense.
While it is still plagued by a few bugs in its current beta state it is largely fully playable and very fun.

It is a one of a kind experience and it stands to grow a bit more even now with many upcoming dlc's.

Which leads into my one major downside to this game, the insanely high price. I am talking in specific about the price for immortal empires. This requires you to own the 3 base games, but lets be honest the old races are barely complete without all of their dlc's. The total price of all the content is truly immense if bought at full price.

As such, only buy this game (and the older games and dlc's) when it is on sale.

A unique combat system not quite found in any other game.
However the game is very dated, the engine is ancient by now and no matter how many times they attempt to redesign the menu the game feels old and clunky.
This game has been out since 2006 and during all these years no real improvements were made to the game, if this game is to ever see success again a new version has to be made. But considering the devs haven't done anything with this game in the last 10 years I do not see this happening.

Got stuck in an infinite crash loop that I could not get out of no matter what I tried.
I could not continue to play the game at all.

A tech demo at best. An abandoned early access game at worst.

Over the years I have been waiting for this to become something, since 2014 to be precise.
Development has always been extremely slow, and what do they have to show for their years of development?
A combat system that feels fluid, but can be cheesed really hard and would get extremely boring/annoying in any full length game.
That's it, the rest is an extremely short campaign with mediocre jump puzzles and gameplay that feels more like an asset flip than a real game.

How they can charge $25 for this I do not know. As it stands now, not worth it at all, and its no longer getting updated so I doubt it will ever be worth it.

After years of development the game stands at the top of it's kind. If you even remotely enjoy this type of game you would do yourself a disservice by not trying factorio.

A fun little game, the first levels are easy but it gets hard fast.
If you love challenges and good music this game is for you.

The level making is also alot of fun but don't be mistaken it takes quite some time!
