Rust was once a game that rewarded dedication and skill but now they have completely removed the skill out of the game and now only cater towards large groups and grubbing. From removing skill based recoil, to adding moonpools to oil, making Heli untakeable, and absolutely obliterating cargo, every update they make this game more ♥♥♥♥. This game was once a competitive game that required lots of skill and many hours but since 2022 this game has turned into a casual game and focused towards roleplaying.

One of the biggest issues with this game is lack of player feedback and poor update priorities. Since 2022 Facepunch has been completely disconnected from their player base and have decided to add filler updates instead of actually working on longstanding issues and improving the game. The devs have continuously pushed updates that fundamentally change their game in ways many players don’t want and completely ignore the feedback when people complain.

The other biggest issue is them focusing on monetization over actual gameplay. Every single update includes a new way to suck you dry and take every penny they can off you all for a brand new ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ skin. At the start when they added Dlcs they actually meant something and would give you actual items, now they charge $12.99 for a lumberjack hazmat skin that gives absolutely nothing and costs more than the Sunburn Dlc that actually gives you something.
