I don't hate the game, and honestly a game that feels incomplete at release is par for the course for 4X/Strategy games now. It's a detestable business practice, but I knew what I was getting into. That being said, there are enough UI issues and bugs that even if you like the changes made (I'm neutral on most of them), it's grating. I wouldn't recommend buying this thing at full price. I'll keep playing it, but I'd say hold off for a bit if you were on the fence.

All the open-world content felt unnecessary. In fact, it's a detriment to the experience. So, after the first region, I ignored as much of it as possible.

As for the linear story sections, I quite enjoyed it. Where it felt like Remake, it was good. A lot of the tension feels like it's hanging by a very convoluted thread (Cloud not saying anything to anyone) but the story mostly does its job. Hoping I don't have to wait years post-release to get a PC port for the third game. Hell, I might even finish the original first!

I don't know what to say, honestly. I loved it.

I really can't bring myself to enjoy this. It's the exact kind of game where you turn your brain off and grind generic, underwhelming map markers. It's the Ubisoft formula I love to hate

I'm not a fan of being made to create a PSN account to play a game that I purchased on PC months after I got it. Nasty.

Sony said they'd roll back their PSN requirements, but that doesn't mean they haven't barred people from playing it arbitrarily. If you don't live in a country with PSN access, you still can't play. Sony doesn't care (obviously) and they're not rolling back the damage they've already done.

This thing is too shallow to justify charging half-price. The legends all feel the same, there's little variety and the writing is mediocre at best. It doesn't help that the plague events fire way too often.

As I approach the end of the game I find fewer and fewer reasons to want to continue.

I was already bitter at the fact that the game demanded I grind for four hours in a dull minigame to make money for story progression, then it decided to place a boss fight right *after* that which demands you grind for experience for several hours before you have any chance of beating it. The pacing is thrown entirely out the window for the final quarter of the story (which, in terms of game time, may not even be the halfway point).

I was able to stomach the massive difficulty spikes until the fight at the top of the Millenium Tower. A fight against a health sponge who can take four or five turns in a row and has a move which is guaranteed to be a one-hit kill. This is in the game where if your party leader goes down, the fight is over. After spending twenty minutes in the one fight, I lost instantly to ONE move in the second half. I'm not sure I can bring myself to finish this game. It feels like it decided to converge on all the least fun aspects of JRPGs at the end and I can't stand it.

There isn't nearly enough to do to justify the sheer amount of time the game expects me to waste, and the last fight I got to was salt in the wound. I'd say go play one of the other entries.

I should be able to play the turn-based strategy game for more than three turns before it crashes to desktop. The base game may have some severe issues but it wasn't THIS bad.

I lost internet connection during a singleplayer match and the game crashed
I should be able to use non-multiplayer features of the game without needing an internet connection. I care less about account progression than being able to continue playing games I'm already in
