While playing you have the ability to pause at any given moment to rethink your strategy and command units which makes this game even for people like me that hate micro managing accessable. The gameplay is challenging and punishes mistakes very harshly since a single infected can turn your entire colony into zombies in seconds. To keep the living dead from destroying the colony you have to build walls, towers and troops while keeping your economy in balance. There is currently only a hord survival mode but the developers are already working on a full length campaign.
