ABOUT Take Back The PUBs!

Yup. We cap on Hightower.

Have you ever logged on to Team Fortress 2, looked at the "Play Multiplayer" button, and wished you could click it and just legitimately play Team Fortress 2? You know, the game where, supposedly, two teams compete with each other to capture an objective? Using a fun array of interesting weapons? That's what the game was meant to be, but it seems these days, you're expected to never cap the objective, never kill "friendly" enemies (a contradiction in terms if ever their was one), never kill people who are dancing, etc.

We're here to change all that. We are not trolls. Name calling, racism, sexism, flooding the screens with binds, sound boarding; none of this will be tolerated from our members. We are here to log in and find other people who want to help us play the game as it was meant to be played. Nothing more, nothing less.

As a member of our group, you can see who else is online that thinks like you do. Click their name, hit "join game" and rest assure you'll find at least one other person who's there to play to win.

Our code of honor is simple and applies to all Valve servers (while on community servers, you are expected to follow the "house rules" of whomever pays the bills):

* Respect your fellow players. Name calling, racism, sexism, flooding the screens with binds, sound boarding; none of this will be tolerated from our members. N-bombs and racial or homphobic slurs will be cause for ejection, even used as a joke. Just don't do it.

* Play the objective, or defend your own. Regardless of the map or what others are doing.

* Kill the other team regardless of what they're doing or not doing. There are plenty of community servers that are setup to accommodate "friendlies." Trad servers, idle servers, friendly servers. If all someone wants to do is chill and meet people; they have options for that.

* The use of taunts (as in actual TF2 taunts) is fine. As is killing people who are taunting. If you get blown up while taunting, it's on you.

* Be gracious in defeat - unless someone is legitimately cheating (using a map exploit or aimbot for example), don't complain about someone doing well or killing you repeatedly. Everyone has access to the same weapons and tactics; if you think something is OP, feel free to use it yourself.

* Be even MORE gracious in victory - GG at the end of every game. It's fine to be proud of your victory; but it's still not an excuse for disrespecting your opponents.

Finally, adding [TBTPs!] to your name is encouraged, but not at all required. The idea is to get people to see the tag more and more, until they look up what it means and 1. find this group, 2. start to realize that there actually IS a good size portion of the community who want to actually play the standard game in pubs.

Years later but I would happily kill "friendlies".

You can't trust them, they're still an enemy and if you want to get all high-minded about it, it's essentially a cutesy form of griefing anyway.

I agree with most of the stuff this group says except for killing friendlies. If anything you should be keeping them alive so they can heal you! And don't you like it when the enemy team is short 1 fighter?

A group with the ideology of being a decent person in general. Not something you see every day.

Thanks for the heads up! Fixed!
