This Steam group currently serves as a "proof-of-concept" that may or may not evolve into a legitimate venture at a later date.

Welcome to the Cheneymania.tf Steam Group! Cheneymania.tf is an offshoot of the semi-popular Castaway.tf, a group focused on returning TF2 to its casual roots seen in the days of old, BEFORE the dark times known as the "Meet Your Match" update. That means RANDOM CRITS, NO CLASS LIMITS, SPRAY IMAGES, ALL TALK, and WEAPON REVERTS! Here's the kicker: friendly fire is also turned ON. It's not called "Cheneymania" for nothing.

Our "Hunting Club" also features a map voting system to help keep things a bit more varied. Long-forgotten favorites from the past make a return as well. Remember tc_hydro? We do. Remember Arena Mode? Valve sure as ♥♥♥♥ doesn't, but we certainly do. Even some old community favorites make a return!

Other miscellaneous features include "roll the dice", the Unreal/Quake announcer pack, and more that you'll just have to discover for yourself.

Please note that Cheneymania only exists in the sphere of this Steam Group, the Group Chat, and the server(s) listed below. That is to say an official discord, sub-reddit, or anything of that nature will never exist, as it leads to many problems that I'm sure you're already painfully aware of.

Some Other Things to Note:

1. This is a Team Fortress 2 server, not Craigslist. Don't advertise your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ here.

2. Any attempt to maliciously disrupt server activity will be met with severe punishment including, but not limited to, gagging, muting, banning, berating, and much more depending on how egregious it is.

3. Player communications, while not strictly moderated, should still be kept legal. Use common sense. I don't care if you hurl every single slur in the book at each other, just don't post illegal ♥♥♥♥, and don't be a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ creep. Remember, the mute button is your friend.

4. CSAM (I can't believe that's what we're calling it now) of any form, including drawn content (that is to say, lolishit and adjacent content), is 100 percent forbidden. Your mental gymnastics, while impressive, will not save you here.

5. Sometimes we like to branch out and play other games (see Associated Games column) if enough players are interested. There are no consistent servers up for these titles, as it normally involves one of us just hosting a listen server for the session and calling it a day.

Cheneytrauma

I will soon be starting up an ongoing Barotrauma campaign for the bros. Since this will include some light modifications, I have taken the liberty of compiling a short overview in the form of a PowerPoint (LibreOffice Impress) presentation, which will be linked below along with the link to the workshop collection. Please take the time to look at this, as it includes important information on properly mounting mods, setting up load orders, and what I generally expect from these sessions. I will need to do some live-testing in the meantime, so I will be recruiting folks to do so periodically. This will be hosted via listen server, by the way, so it will not be active 24/7. If you have any additional questions, please let me know.

Hello new blood, welcome to Cheneymania! You are witnessing not the birth, but the very conception of something I hope makes people happy, laugh, and have a good time with the bros for years to come. This cannot, however, be done too hastily. I ask that you bear with me and understand that I am keeping this on the down-low for now. I don't want this to be smothered in the crib, if you will forgive the rather crass analogy. My philosophy is this: Start small. Get a good foundation going, then you can expand. Here's how I want to go about putting this into practice: Everyone I have personally invited gets a plus one of your own choosing, and my own approval. I will personally vet each and every one to keep the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ at bay. Once I build enough of a profile for someone, I will extend them the same plus one privilege. I think this is a good compromise for now until I get ♥♥♥♥ more set up. And, as the wise Gabe Logan Newell once said: Thanks, and have fun!
