Ending this group / migration to FAForever

Hello everyone!

I'm going to disband the group in a few days for several reasons:
- this group is basically inactive
- for those who want to play Forged Alliance, there is a much better alternative:
FAForever, which is a 3rd party lobby. It's awesome, free, and has been rendered compatbile with the Steam version.

FA & GPGNet news - update!

I wrote about GPGNet, the oldest and main lobby for multiplayer SC/FA in my last news.

It was shut down on March 1st.
We now know the reason: the contract with the provider ended (it seems it was hosted by a 3rd party company).
Moreover, the employees at GPG announced they won't get GPGNet back online (I guess the cost of a new contract was too high, given the number of users).

As a result, players will be able to play FA online only on Steam, and FAF.

Another change: CDkeys of boxed version are now redeemable on Steam. Any CDKey of SC or FA will grant you the SC:Gold (SC+FA).
I guess all of you have SC or FA on your account, yet it may be usefull if a friend wants to join you (moreover, buying SC only to get SC:Gold seems to be the best option).

Hi, I am newbie and i dont know how connect to multiplayer. there is only lan/IP conncetions. Can you help please?

Ghostrider: it won't happen. The reason is they are using 2 different versions of the game: unit stats, etc. are different.

gnat: what do you mean? That the level on FAF is higher than on Steam?
