Within the story the Origin is Unknown
In perspective, The Rangers were believed to be formed by members of the old war Russian Special Forces (Spetsnaz), in which they controlled and operated most of the metro within Russia before the bombs dropped. The group is led by Colonel Millar; I VioletRip(Will Change to another nickname for this group particularly) will be whom represents the Colonel. Most that fear us are Bandits, the Reds, and the 4th Reich, but we are not certain of our reputation with other factions we encounter. We used to call our home Polis, it was ran by the Hanza. It was the our centralized base of operations where we could carry out our missions to find old technology for the betterment of future society.

Artyom, a name that is renowned to be a legendary Ranger. He pursued to find remanence of whatever knowledge of the outside world is left in Moscow that many were afraid to embark up to. He lead us to many missile sites/silos, although one particular site called D6 required further investigation. It was absolutely infested with a radiated fleshy mutant that grew throughout the station. It was terminated by Artyom's team, and soon after we called it home.

D6 was a stable part of the Rangers of the Order, and we grew comfortable to the way of life. Although, Artyom perused to find any contact or knowledge of anyone that still lives in the world. The Colonel dissaproved of Artyoms findings, as the cost of bringing the legendary ranger back to life every time he comes back from the surface led to a shortage of medical supplies. Despite the warnings.. he still persisted, and soon found out a bigger truth that the colonel should have realized sooner. The Hanza was infiltrated by Ana and Artyom to find the secret that has been hiding the world from Moscow; a radio Jammer. Soon after it was disabled and everyone in the world could communicate back. (Skipping further within the story) we fled by train to the outside world to find a more habitable place. We seek to repair what we lost in the past.
